We have enjoyed learning all about the Earth’s layers and different types of rocks. We are creating a Sway on our Solar System – sharing facts and pictures.
We have been learning about different food groups We know that we need to eat a balanced diet to be healthy.
We have been learning how to say I like, I love, I don’t like and I hate in French. We will be learning how to talk about foods and drinks we prefer.
In PE, we have been learning how to volley, dig and serve the ball so that we can eventually play a game of volleyball.
We played two songs on the ukulele this week. The open string tuning song and Row, Row, Row the boat – but we changed the words so that it was about the Rock Cycle.
In art, we have created a collage of mixed media in black and white – next week we will be adding a poppy to it. We think the red will really stand out on the background.
In our novel, The Explorer, the children made a raft. As part of our outdoor learning we used the Loose Parts to make a raft of our own.
Three P5’s started cello lessons this week. They all really enjoyed themselves!
In maths, we have been learning about decimals. We have been talking about the place value, rounding to the nearest whole number and making visual representations of each decimal number.
