It has been lovely to welcome everyone back to school. We started the year off by thinking about our New Year’s resolutions. We thought about what we wanted to achieve in and out of school.

We have started a block of story writing. We enjoyed using a picture stimulus of a frozen castle to create an interesting and entertaining story.

This week, we have been attending a Skills Academy of our choice. We have been four times this week and we had a choice of gymnastics, Kapla, art or Microbits. It has been fun working with children from different classes and developing our skills.

In Numeracy and Maths, we have been learning about multiplication and division of whole and decimal numbers by 10, 100, 1000. We have all been learning about compass directions. We used trial and error in our problem solving.

In P.E and Dance, we have developed our skills in working together and cooperating.

We have begun our new topic of The Victorians by thinking about what we know and what we would like to learn. We have created fact files about Queen Victoria and learned lots of interesting facts.

We have continued our drumming skills with Mr Foggo.

In Science, we have been learning about gears as part of our electricity learning.

As part of our home learning, we have all chosen a Scottish poem and will work on it in class too. We identified some Scottish words we were unsure of and found their meanings.
