Friday 19th September

A huge thanks to Mr Avery for helping us bake Rocky Road today in preparation for tomorrow’s Summer Fair. We worked well in groups and followed instructions well. Thank you for the wonderful donations for our baking stall tomorrow.

In our topic work, we have been exploring the Loch Ness Monster and discussing whether we think it’s fact or fiction. We explored evidence online and discussed, giving reasons. We also drew what we thought it looked like with annotations. We developed our skills in note-taking in a mind-map format from a video we had watched.

We have continued our class novel and used this as our inspiration in Loose Parts play/drama, where we worked together to create shelters in groups and then as a whole class, it was lots of fun.

We have been discussing different strategies to help us when are in the learning pit. We had lots of good ideas. In PE, we have continued to develop our skills in team games, like basketball.

We have continued to enjoy developing our drumming skills with Mr Foggo.

In Art, we have been developing our use of water colour paint, and pattens and line to create our Christmas cards.

In Writing this week, we wrote about someone who is special to us and how they make us feel, focusing on using descriptive language.

We have been developing our skills in addition and subtraction in our numeracy work and looking at symmetry in Maths.

In RME, we have used book creator to display our findings.
