P4 Blog Thurs/Fri
It’s been another super end to the week in P4.
We enjoyed learning some new team building activities in PE and worked so well together.
For literacy this week we have been learning about the Harvest Festival and used our skimming and scanning to complete a piece of comprehension work.
For art we have been getting into the festive spirit early, beginning work on our Christmas cards using geometric patterns and different shades.
In Maths we have continued with Data Handling, learning how to interpret different graphs and answer questions.
For Loose Parts this week we stayed indoors, and enjoyed using the smaller loose parts to create a Harvest themed structure. From farm machinery to shops we told the story of how food arrives on our plate through the power of imagination!
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and see you next week!

Primary 4 Blog

Thursday/Friday

We have had a great end to the week in P4!

In literacy we have been learning how to use a thesaurus to up level our writing. We looked at the impact exciting adjectives can have on our writing and discussed examples from our favourite books. We then created our own fantastic sentences using adjectives to make them interesting!

In Maths we have been looking at data collection. We used tally marks and bar graphs to record and display data about the pets that everyone in the class has.

In health and wellbeing, we have been discussing what makes a good classroom and have used this to help finish off our class charter.

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend and I look forward to seeing you all on Thursday!

Miss Purvis.

Friday 23rd August 2024

What a wonderful first week in Primary 4! We have enjoyed getting used to our new classroom and settling back into the school routine.

This week we have learnt about our rights and considered how these could tie in with our class charter. We looked at the difference between wants and needs and discussed the rights we have as children.

We have discussed the power of resilience and set goals for the coming term.

We enjoyed working in teams during loose parts and using our imaginations to construct some incredible creations.

It has been a busy and action-packed week and P4 have worked so hard across all of their learning! We look forward to seeing you on Monday for another fun filled week of learning! Have a super weekend, Miss Purvis and Mrs Skilling.
