With Miss Tannock, we have started our reading groups and picked new names for our groups. We picked five Articles of the United Nations Convention of Rights of the Child that we felt were the most relevant to our time in school and the classroom and started creating our Class Charter. We created tree art focusing on identifying warm and cool colours and using lines to create patterns. We started our numeracy learning with reading numbers up to 7 digits and did a numeracy assessment. We began our narrative learning by creating a collaborative piece of writing about our learning character for co-operation. We had to include an introduction, event and resolution, our character had to use their learning power to solve the problem, and we had to use the description bubble to add wow words. We sang head, shoulders, knees and toes in French to recap our body parts and used i-pads to access literacy games.
With Mrs Skilling, we have been discussing and creating classroom jobs. In maths, we looked at bar graphs and created our own using information gathered in pictures. We discussed probability and talked about the likelihood of rolling particular numbers on a dice. We completed a spelling assessment and began looking at different comprehension skills. In Drama, we enjoyed some team building activities and acting out different descriptions. We talked about the importance of secure passwords and created our own for our glow accounts.
