Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday
We have been super busy this week.
In Literacy, we carried on with our descriptive work, including describing our dream bedroom. We learnt that drafts are important for writing and focussed on using our corrections to produce our best piece of work. We started our new spelling words and our reading groups.
In Numeracy, we have been looking at mental maths strategies and using them to help us solve addition equations. We have been continuing our work with place value and calculating number patterns in 1s, 10s, 100s and 1000s.
In Health and Wellbeing, we read the story “Mirette on the High Wire” by Emily Arnold McCully and discussed the importance of resilience and perseverance when tackling difficult challenges. We looked at the human brain and how neurons fire information. We then learnt about how our brain looks with a fixed mindset and a growth mindset.
In Drama, we acted out scenes from our class novel “The boy who grew dragons” by Andy Shepard.
In Science, we started investigating the difference between living and non-living things.
I hope you all have a fantastic rest of week and I look forward to seeing you on Monday.
