This week, we have been learning about red foxes. We voted to learn more about them and then used a book and a video to note down some facts. We then wrote an information text including an introduction, facts and our opinion at the end. We have been trying to include and, but, so and because to join sentences. The P4s had to try and add some openers too like ‘Did you know’ and ‘Another interesting fact is’. We all had to try and use describing words.
In Numeracy, we learnt the word ‘partitioning’ which means to separate numbers in to hundreds, tens and ones or maybe even thousands too. Today, we had a go at partitioning in a non-standard way!
In Art, we collected leaves and used them to print trees. We then added trunks and branches with pen and painted the ground. They look great!
In PE, we have been practising bouncing and dribbling with a basket ball. Today, we played games to practise these skill.
In Health and Wellbeing, we thought about the wellbeing indicators and how Newport Primary School helps to support these. We made posters with a partner. We also read ‘Your Fantastic, Elastic Brain’ and learnt how we can make our brains even bigger and stronger. We can learn new things, make mistakes and keep practising things.
