This week we have been learning about kingfishers, as they came up in our class novel, Benji’s Emerald King. We have written an information text with an introduction, lots of facts and our opinion. We had t include describing words and connectives.
In Art, we made collages of kingfishers using different colours and textures of paper. They look fantastic!
From our class novel, we have also been interested in trees and identifying them from their leaves. We are trying to find out what trees we have on our school grounds.
In Numeracy, we have been learning about Place Value or 2-, 3- and 4-digit numbers. We have been playing games to consolidate our learning.
In Health and Wellbeing, we read a book called Incredible You! It is all about remembering all of our special skills and qualities. We made posters to share what makes us incredible!
In PE, we have been learning and practising 3 different types of throw – shoulder pass, chest pass and bounce pass. Today we played some games to practise.
In Outdoor Learning with P2/3, we designed mazes and obstacle courses with chalk on the playground. They were very creative and we worked well in groups of three. We got to have a go on other children’s mazes too.
With Mrs Skilling, we looked at bar graphs and created our own using information gathered from a picture. We talked about the importance of secure passwords and created our own for our glow accounts.
