This week we were learning about a growth mindset and also the learning pit. We worked together in groups to create our own mini plays showing what to do to get out of the learning pit. We had lots of fun and then used our ICT skills to film them. Finally we watched them all on the smartboard like a cinema and gave each other feedback.

In spelling we have been working on new spelling rules. P2s are learning ‘ll’ and P3s are learning ‘ay’. We have been doing dictations on the whiteboards and making up our own silly sentences.

Our book of the week was ‘The Cook and the King’ by Julia Donaldson. We practised our grammar and phonics through shared texts and wrote descriptions of the king. P2s were trying to use the connective ‘and’. P3s were using adjectives and a variety of conjunctions. Some were trying similes.

We look forward to seeing some of you at the School Fayre on Saturday.
