Monday to Wednesday with Mrs Meiklem
Another lovely week together this week! Also a warm welcome to Miss Drummond who is doing her teacher training placement with us for the next few weeks.
This week we have enjoyed learning more about the Dundee Jute Mills in our topic. We also learned about the old ferry to Dundee and created some wonderful wax resist art work, inspired by famous artist James Rizzi. We are enjoying responding to the children’s’ questions and interests.
In numeracy we are continuing to work on different subtraction strategies at our own level.
In PE we were creating dances with a partner to pop music. We talked about how the music made us feel and gave each other feedback on our performances.
We loved hearing everyone’s Scots Poems this week. What a super effort from everyone. The class were so encouraging to one another and celebrated each other’s successes with claps and high fives!
In writing we created our own Scots Poems and had fun reading them out.
We were learning about the old ferry from Newport to Dundee. We hope you like our art work.
Next week we are going to create our own class museum with old artefacts that are linked to our community and Dundee. Please look out for a note about this.
