Hello

We hope you are well!

This week in P1 we have been learning to subtract using a number line. We all worked together to come up with the steps on how to be successful at this. We have also been learning half past on a digital clock.

In literacy we read the Gruffalo and wrote a description about the characters and setting. We came up with some super wow and describing words.

In HWB we have been focusing on coming up with goals for ourselves in school and out of school. Some of the goals were to work on our sounding out, writing and learning to ride a bike.

We hope you have a lovely weekend!

Hello

We hope you are well.

This week in P1 we have been learning that eating more of some foods and less of others is good for our health. We prepared and tasted a vegetable and fruit salad. They were delicious!

In PE we have been continuing to develop our gymnastic skills of rolling, balancing and jumping.

For our topic we have been learning about a Coat of Arms. We then made our own coat of arms to represent ourselves. We chose different animals to represent our personality, symbols for our family and a symbol for our hobby.

We are continuing to revisit and consolidate our diagraphs in phonics.

We hope you have a lovely weekend!

Hello

We hope you are well!

This week in P1, we have been sequencing numbers to 20. We have had lots of fun playing games and singing songs to find numbers before and after.

We have also been continuing time and learning o’clock on an analogue clock. This week we drew the hands on an analogue clock, making sure we could tell the difference between the hour and minute hands.

We have also been learning about the different features of castle. We learnt some new topic words and labelled a castle. We also discussed who might have lived in a castle and what there job would have been. For our writing, we shared who we would be if we lived in a castle and used adjectives to describe them.

We have been continuing our Scottish Country Dancing. We had so much fun teaching p1/2 the dances we knew and in return they taught us their dances.

We hope you have a lovely weekend!

Hello

We hope you are well!

This week in P1 we wrote an acrostic poem all about Winter. We learnt that an acrostic poem has a theme word and the  first letter of each new line spells out a word. We used some amazing topic words and remembered to use capital letters, finger spaces and full stops.

We were also reading analogue clocks and recognising o’clock. We then made our own clocks and used them to show o’clock times.

In Health and Wellbeing we have been learning to discuss what it means to be kind. We read a book called ‘Fill your Bucket’ and discussed how we can fill our friend’s buckets with acts of kindness.

We hope you have a lovely weekend!

Hello

This week we have been in full Christmas Spirit.

We enjoyed the Christmas Church Service. We were Responsible Citizens  walking safely and sensibly to the church and and Confident Individuals using loud and clear singing voices. Our favourite song as a class was Go Tell It on the Mountain.

We would also like to thank you for coming to our Nativity Performance. We have all worked very hard to learn our lines, songs and dances. We had so much fun performing and hope you enjoyed it!

For Festive Friday this week we made some cool snowmen hand print Christmas cards, then some Santa Christmas tree decorations. We hope you love them as much as us.

In class we read ‘How to Catch an Elf’. We then wrote an imaginative piece of writing about how we would catch our own little naughty elf. We had some super ideas like using candy to lure them in and then using lasers and nets to catch them.

We hope you have a lovely weekend!

We have been busy in P1, rehearsing for our Nativity. We have our roles and have been going through our lines (lines have been sent home in homework to practice).  We cannot wait for you to come and watch next Friday!!

For this Festive Friday we decorated some Christmas bags and tags for the community.

We have been adding 1p and 2p coins together, playing lots of games and using role play.

This week we were all Confident Individuals as we presented our individual talks. We planned and prepared some interesting facts about our toys and then presented it to the class. We worked on giving eye contact and using a loud and clear voice.

Hello

We hope you are all well!

This week in P1 we read the story The Snowman by Raymond Briggs. Then we made our own snowmen using salt dough and recorded our steps. Using this we wrote our own instructions on how to build a snowman. We needed to include a list of materials and use bossy words.

For Festive Friday we created aerial view snowmen using oil pastels. We also had fun decorating the school Christmas tree with our buddies!

In numeracy we used a number line to find the missing part of an addition sentence with numbers to 10 and 20.

We hope you have a lovely weekend!

Hello

We hope you are all well!

This week in p1 we have been learning to write instructions. We made some yummy jam sandwiches, sequenced the steps and then wrote the instructions.

In numeracy we have been learning all about number bonds of 10. We have played lots of games to help us make all the different ways to make ten.

We have been also looking at the missing number in an addition sentence. We have been using Numicon and number lines to help us find the answer.

In Outdoor Learning, with our buddies we searched the playground for different types of leaves. We identified the leaf types and done some colourful leaf rubbings.

In Health and Wellbeing, we have been discussing what a group is and the groups we belong to. We shared the groups we belong to in and outside of school and why we like them.

For topic and art, using multi-media, we drew and painted teddy bears. They turned out adorable!

We hope you have a lovely weekend!
