Happy Friday !
PE- We have loved learning different Scottish dances. We have also enjoyed taking part in the mile.
Topic- We have been learning about some of the locations of Scottish castles.
Outdoor Learning- We enjoyed exploring with the large loose parts.
Health- We discussed using deep breathing to help us blow our worries away.
Literacy- We enjoyed our reading books this week. Our new sounds were ‘qu and ou ‘. Our writing was about The Loch Ness Monster.

Numeracy/ Maths- We have been learning about subtraction. We made our own analogue clocks to help us practise telling the time.
French – We learned about some colours in French.

Miss Good worked with us on Thursday afternoon .

Numeracy- We have been completing our addition learning ready to start subtraction next week. We have been finishing our Information Handling learning too.
Literacy- We have been listening to Scottish poems and have all chosen one to learn. We all enjoyed our reading books this week. Our piece of writing was about Greyfriars Bobby. Our new sounds were oa and ng.
Art- We have made Greyfriars Bobby, the Loch Ness Monster, a McCoo and tartan.
PE- We have been learning different Scottish Dances.
Miss Donaldson worked with us on Thursday.

Happy Friday and Happy Holidays!

We have had another great week in Primary 1.
We loved performing our show ‘Busy, Busy Bethlehem ‘. We all did the most amazing job!
We enjoyed running the mile and taking part in the whole school Santa dash ! This was lots of fun.
We loved singing to the residents in St Serfs care home. We took some of our community bags with us to give to the residents.
We continued working on our addition learning.
Our sounds this week were wa and all.
We made a lovely star decoration and a beautiful calendar. We loved our Christmas party. We played lots of games and had a special visit from SANTA!!!!

Happy Festive Friday !
We have had another great week in Primary 1.
We did our dress rehearsal of our show ‘Busy Busy Bethlehem ‘. The whole school loved it. We can’t wait to perform for you all on Monday.

We all enjoyed our committees this week.

Literacy – We all enjoyed our reading books this week. Our new sounds were ai and ie. We have been continuing to practise our blending.

Numeracy- We have been continuing with our addition leaning. We also conducted a class eye colour survey. We used tally marks to record our information and then made a pictograph. This was lots of fun.

Miss Goode worked with us on Thursday morning .
Art- We made lovely Christmas tree cards ready to bring home next week.

Music- We have been practising for our Christmas performance and the songs we will be singing in the church.
Outdoor Learning – We enjoyed creating a Carol Diagram. We were looking for brown/ not brown natural/man made materials.
We enjoyed helping deliver the Christmas post this week.

Happy Friday !
We have had another hard working and fun week in Primary 1.

We loved decorating our school and class Christmas tree with our Buddies.
We have been practising very hard for our Christmas show – Busy Busy Bethlehem.

Literacy – We all enjoyed our reading books this week. Our new sounds were- th , ee and or. We also did a piece of descriptive writing about our snowman and snow ladies.

Numeracy/ Maths- We have been continuing our work on addition and information handling . We enjoyed some time on Sum Dog.

Topic – We had a visit from Sue and Marjory from the Fife Folk Museum in Ceres. They led a workshop about toys and Christmas long ago . We loved all the activities.

Science- We were learning about the forces – push and pull. We investigated different toys to see if we had to push or pull them to make them move. We also made pom pom poppers and designed our own toys.

PE- We enjoyed running the mile. We also enjoyed doing different exercises to music. We had lots of fun during our yoga session .
We all enjoyed our pupil committees this week.

Festive Friday- We made gift bags ready to be filled and given to people in our community.

Miss Goode worked with us on Thursday afternoon. We were learning more about the Christmas story.

Happy Friday !
We have had another great week in Primary 1!
Music / Drama – We have been practising for our Christmas show . You are all going to love it !
Art- We printed very cool snowmen for our festive frieze in the hall.
Literacy – Our new sounds were ch and sh.
We wrote instructions on how to make hot chocolate. We all enjoyed our reading books this week. We enjoyed sharing stories with our Buddies.
Maths/ Numeracy- We have been continuing to work on our addition learning. We have also been working on Caroll Diagrams in our information handling learning.
PE- We were practising pair poses in Yoga. We were also doing different exercises to music.

Outdoor learning – We enjoyed exploring the with the large loose parts.
We all enjoyed our committees this week.

Miss Goode worked with us on Thursday morning . We were making symmetrical pictures using small loose parts.

Literacy- We have been continuing to work hard on our blending activities. We all enjoyed our reading books this week. We had to write instructions on how to make a jam sandwich this week. We sequenced pictures and then wrote our instructions . We did underwriting and independent writing.
Numeracy/ Maths- We have been working hard on our addition to 10 learning . We also have been learning about Caroll diagrams. We enjoyed some time playing Sum Dog.

Outdoor Learning- We enjoyed exploring the large loose part. We also collected natural materials with our buddies and organised them into a pictograph.
PE- We enjoyed doing different exercises to music . We also loved learning different individual yoga poses.
Art-We made a top secret surprise for our janitor,Rory .
Music- We have been practising for our nativity.

Happy Thursday!

We loved having our special adults working with us. Our teddy bears look great.
Outdoor Learning- We used natural materials to create our own Rangoli patterns. We love working with our buddies.
PE- We enjoyed doing different exercises to music .
Numeracy- We have been working hard on our addition to 10. We enjoyed some time on Sum Dog.
Literacy- Our writing job this week was to write instructions on how to clean our teeth. We had pictures to sequence first and then wrote our instructions . We all enjoyed our reading books. We have been working really hard on our blending.
Topic- We were learning about some toys from the past.
RME- We were learning about Diwali the ‘festival of light ‘. We made Diya lamps.

Happy Friday !
We have had another hardworking week in Primary 1.

PE- We enjoyed some Halloween yoga as we ran out of time on Friday . We loved doing different exercises to music. We also enjoyed taking part in the mile .Maths/Numeracy – We had some time playing Sum Dog. We also have been working on our addition learning. We have been learning about 1p, 2p, 5p and 10p coins.

Literacy – We all enjoyed our reading books and we have been working on our key words . We wrote our own firework poems .
Health – We discussed the importance of firework safety . We made our own safety poster . We have been talking about our emotions and how our faces show how we are feeling. We used natural materials to show  different emotion faces.

Outdoor Learning – We enjoyed exploring time with the large loose parts .
Art- We printed our own Autumn trees. They look amazing and will be displayed in the school hall. We also printed fantastic firework pictures. Miss Allan worked with us on Thursday afternoon and we used the IPads to draw our own firework pictures.

Happy Halloween!
We have had a fun but hard working first week back.
We all enjoyed our games Skills Academy. We loved playing different games with our friends.
PE- We have been working on our fitness doing different exercises to music. This was so much fun. We also enjoyed taking part in the mile. We also did some Halloween yoga which was lots of fun.
Literacy- We all enjoyed sharing a book with our Buddies. We all loved our reading books this week. We did some functional writing this week- We had to sequence pictures to show how to wash our hands. We then drew our own pictures and did some underwriting.
Numeracy /Maths- We have been working on our addition to 10 learning.
Outdoor Learning – We enjoyed exploring the large loose parts in small group’s.
