Happy Friday and Happy Holidays!

We have had another busy and fun week in Primary 1.

Literacy- Our new sounds were- w, v, y and x. We love singing all the songs.
We enjoyed sharing a book with our Buddies.  We made a water safety poster during writing time. We drew detailed pictures and did some lovely underwriting.

Numeracy- We enjoyed some time playing Sum Dog. We also have been working on our numbers to 10/20 learning. We had a shape assessment to do.

PE- We enjoyed playing different games. We also enjoyed running the mile.

Outdoor Learning – We collected leaves to help us decorate our headbands. We also enjoyed some time exploring the bottom garden.

Music- We have been practising our special songs for our Harvest Together Time. We also have a very special song to sing at our Harvest Together Time.

Topic- We loved making our ‘Under the sea’ shoe boxes.

Miss Cook worked with us on Wednesday morning.

Happy Friday !

Literacy- We loved our new reading books this week. We made lovely under the sea posters. We picked a sea creature to draw and write 3 facts about them . We did some lovely underwriting. Our new sounds this week were- f, b, j and z.
Numeracy- We have been working on our numbers to 10/20 learning. We enjoyed some time on Sum Dog.
Topic- We have started to create our own under the sea shoe boxes. This has been messy by lots of fun 🙂
French- We are getting very good at counting to 10 in French.
Outdoor Learning- Our Buddies created lots of games for us to play.
ICT- We have been learning to log into the school Netbooks. We used Chatterpix on our iPad to create a photo of ourselves saying Je M’appelle. This was so much fun.

PE- We have been playing lots of different games . Our favourite was using the parachute to play sharks. We enjoyed running the mile.

Another hardworking and fun week in Primary 1! 🙂

Literacy- We have been working hard on our new sounds- g,o,u and l. We have been practising blending three letter words. We all enjoyed our reading books this week. We have been practising our key reading words. Our writing this week was about a time we gave our friend a present. We did detailed drawings and had the challenge of underwriting.

Numeracy/Maths- We have been continuing with our numbers to 10/20 learning. We have also been making different models using 3D shapes.

French- We have been learning to count to 10 in French. We also used Chatterpix to record ourselves saying our names in French. This was lots of fun.

Science- We located land and water on a map. We discussed that water can be in different states. We also made our own ice gardens.

Miss Allan worked with us on Wednesday.

PE-We loved playing different games. We also enjoyed taking part in the whole school mile.

We all enjoyed going to our different committees on Friday.

Outdoor Learning- We had fun exploring the bottom garden. We loved working with our Buddies to plan what we would like planted in our class planters.
Art- We made very cool jelly fish.
French- We have been learning how to count to 5 in French.
Maths/ Numeracy- We have been working on our numbers to 10/20 learning. We enjoyed our 3D shape learning. We had some time on Sum Dog.
Literacy- We all enjoyed our reading books this week. Our new sounds were- h,r, m and d. We love the jolly jingles.
PE- We played lots of fun games. We enjoyed running the mile.
Health- We were discussing how we felt when we started school.

Happy Friday from Primary 1 !

Literacy – We have been learning our new sounds – p, n, c , k and e. We really love the songs and are trying hard to blend our sounds together to make words. Our writing this week was when we had bought something new. We did lovely detailed pictures as a plan for our writing. We did over and under writing. We loved our reading books this week.
Numeracy/Maths – We have been making models with 3D shapes. We have been working on our numbers to 10/20 learning.
We enjoyed some time playing Sum Dog.
Health – We read ‘The Dot’. We turned a dot into our own piece of art work . We discussed fixed and growth mindsets. We discussed that it’s ok to make mistakes and they are an important part of our learning.
PE-We enjoyed running the mile. We also played lots of fun games.
French – We have been practising how to say our names .
Outdoor learning- We loved weeding our planters with our Buddies. Next week we will decide what to plant in them. We also enjoyed making boars and submarines with loose parts. We also loved making our own apple juice!

Happy Friday!

We have been working hard and having lots of fun.

Literacy- We have been meeting more characters from our Reading books. We cant wait to share our books with you at the weekend. Our writing this week was about a time we fell and hurt ourselves. We did detailed drawings and shared our sentences with Mrs Carmichael to write. We then did over writing. We have started to learn our new sounds- s,a,t,i.  We love singing the songs!

Numeracy/Maths- We have been working on our numbers to 10/20. We also did some learning about 3D shapes.

Health- We read ‘Giraffes Can’t Dance’. We discussed that we are good at lots of things but sometimes we have to practise to get better at some things.

Outdoor Learning- We collected lots of apples ready to make apple juice on Monday.

PE-We enjoyed playing lots of games. Our favourite this week was’ Jack Frost’.

French – We met Camembear and were learning how to say hello and goodbye in French.

Miss Allan worked with us for part of the day on Wednesday.

Happy Friday!

We have had another settled, hardworking and fun week in Primary 1.

Literacy-We have been enjoying our rhyming learning. We loved ‘Incy Wincy Spider’. We have been practising writing our names making sure we form our letters correctly. We did a piece of personal writing about when we feel happy. We did detailed drawings and then did some overwriting. We were learning about the character ‘Kipper’ who we will meet in our reading books.

Numeracy/Maths- We have been working on our numbers to 10/20. We also did some learning about 2D shapes.

Health- We created our Class Charter and linked this to our Rights and Responsibilities. We also discussed what we need to help us learn. We also made our name cards for our class Drop a Note.

PE-We loved playing different games. Our favourite was a parachute game called ‘Fruit salad’. We enjoyed taking part in the whole school mile.

Outdoor Learning- We enjoyed exploring the large loose parts. We worked with our P7 Buddies to identify leaves in our playground.

We have had a fun and hardworking first week in Primary 1!
We have loved exploring our new classroom and getting to know each other 🙂

Numeracy- We have been singing lots of counting songs and listening to stories about different numbers.
We have been practising our number formations .
Literacy- We have enjoyed listening to lots of different stories. We have been sharing if we liked or didn’t like them using our thumbs. We have been drawing detailed pictures of ourselves and our families. We loved finding rhyming words in our book called ‘Zog’. We loved making our own special stars 🌟
Health- We have been using our 5 point scale to check in. We have been discussing how important it is to always be kind.

PE- We loved playing different games in the hall. Our favourite game was ‘Stuck in the mud’.
Outdoor learning – We enjoyed time with our P7 Buddies sharing stories and using chalk to draw different pictures .
