Newport Nursery wk – 09.02.26

Hello everyone, Here is a quick look at what we have been up to in nursery this week…..

This week learning is… creativity, motor skills, team work, communication, balancing skills, hand/eye coordination, numeracy, literacy, self confidence, exploring, predicting, being curious, sharing, self-esteem, technology, outdoor learning and problem solving.

Throughout the last few days,  the children have continued their interest in team games especially Toilet tag and Duck, duck, moose outside. They are showing skills to follow the rules and take turns.

Inside the children were keen to further develop their own learning interest by researching the internet using google maps to find their grandparents home in Italy. Then afterwards researching Concorde aircraft and why it doesn’t fly anymore,  inspiring others to join in too. This was then added to our learning wall topic and our shared learning floor book for all to see.

We have introduced a few forth coming celebrations into nursery this week looking at Pancake day and the Chinese New year. We have created a small display promoting this event in other peoples lives. We have provided opportunities for the children to explore more through a range of short video ,and other experiences too. Some children explored the Chinese dragon  game working on ordering and sequences their numbers. from 0-10, 20 and even 100, going forwards and backwards. Others enjoyed looking at money using simple skills in addition using coins from 1p to £2. Another child shared his counting skills from home using a book demonstrating his mark making number skills.
