Milesmark Primary School

School

Milesmark Primary School was built in 1876. It is a small four teacher school which serves the north-western outskirts of Dunfermline. TheĀ children are split into four classes and these are accommodated in an historically attractive Victorian main building and hutted accommodation. The main building also houses a games hall, which couples as a dining hall, a multi purpose resources room and staff and office accommodation.

There is a large tarmac playground, marked with a wide range of playground games, a netball court and lines for the cycle training scheme. The playground has two large shelters for inclement weather and a very attractive school garden that provides opportunities for outdoor learning in a number of curricular areas. The garden is maintained by the ‘gardening mums’ and children on a weekly basis.

Milesmark is a small community where the children benefit from an informal and relaxed working relationship with staff. A relationship which the children feel is secure and stimulating and which encourages them to pursue their learning with enjoyment and increasing independence.

We have a very active and supportive Parent Council and PTA.

Milesmark has a range of extra curricular activities including Karate and football and we make full and effective use of the local environment to support a wide curriculum.

Parents are welcome to contact the school at any time to make arrangements to discuss any aspects of school life on their child’s progress.
