Our school is grateful to have a dedicated Lumphinnans Primary Parent Council, who meet once a term in school. Dates of meetings are shared in the calendar on our website and updates of next meeting will also be shared via GroupCall and Seesaw. All parents/carers are welcome to join!
The objectives of a Parent Council are:
- To work in partnership with the school to create a welcoming school which is inclusive for all parents/carers and pupils.
- To help the school to develop and engage in activities which support the education and welfare of pupils.
- To identify and represent the views of parents on the education provided by the school and other matters affecting the education and welfare of the pupils.
- To work in partnership with the local community.
- To support fund-raising activities.
This session the Parent Council comprises of around 10 volunteer parents/carers. They have helped support the school and children by providing events such as a Halloween discos, our end of term summer party, supporting school trips and our Fayre at Christmas. Fund raising events are planned throughout the year and the Parent Council are very active in applying for grant funds to support school projects.
