About Us
Lochgelly South Primary was built in 1911 and is part of the Lochgelly High School cluster group. The school is of a traditional design with all but two of our classes facing into the large main hall which is a multi-purpose area used for PE, drama, dance, gymnastics, after-school activities and school assemblies. We are continually looking to enhance and maintain the fabric of our building and in the past year we have decorated the main hall, four classrooms, the nursery and also replaced flooring in these. Currently, there are 7 classrooms from P1-7 and a nursery which has a capacity of 18.
There is a substantial playground with generous space to move around including a quiet area to the rear of the building. The front garden is currently being developed as an outdoor learning area with raised beds for vegetable planting. There are plans to further develop the playground with a quiet area for upper school children.
Our school life extends to a variety of extracurricular activities which are provided at different times during the session. We plan to have after school activities being provided by Active Schools. Our link church is St. Serf’s, where we hold our annual Easter service and engage with any workshops organised by the church.
