Welcome to Leuchars Primary School
Leuchars Primary School was built in the mid sixties and is a co-educational, Â non-denominational school. The school is in the centre of Leuchars village with beautiful countryside, beaches and forest trails close by.
Our aim is to create an ethos within the school environment where pupils, parents and staff work together to provide the highest possible standard of education for everyone in the school.
The school building has a modern, bright appearance and we benefit from a large tarmac playground in addition to extensive playing fields and a garden. The Nursery classes are housed in separate buildings within the school grounds with their own outside play areas, but it is very much a part of our school.
Traditionally, our school and the local community have had close links with RAF Leuchars and now Leuchars Army Station. Approximately 35% of our pupils come from MOD Families.  We are very experienced in accommodating new families into our school and settling children into their new routines and environment. If you are visiting our website because you will be moving to the area, please email the school to discuss your child’s placement in the school. You do not need to have moved into your new house in Leuchars before you begin the enrolment process. You might be interested to read the documents in the Transition Section.
At Leuchars Primary School, our aim is to support children in all areas of their lives and to ensure they are safe, healthy, achieving, nurtured, active, respected, responsible and included (SHANARRI). All families have times when their child needs a little additional support, and we work with teachers and parents to collaborate and communicate to meet the needs of our children. This might be based around concerns with learning, changes in family circumstance, a parent needing to be away from home for a while or because of concerns in school. We work with a variety of agencies to best support our families.
