Our S3 netball squad continue to prove that they are one of the best teams in Fife! On Tuesday 6th February our girls travelled to Michael Woods Sports centre for the ‘S3 Fife Schools Netball Tournament’. After a competitive group stage, the girls remained unbeaten with 4 wins and 1 draw, taking the top spot and a bye into the semi-final of the cup competition.
The semi-final vs Beath A was one to watch, fierce interceptions, quick passes through the centre third and goals galore!
The final, a repeat of last year…. KHS vs Woodmill A was always going to be tough, especially after a 5v5 draw in the earlier group stage! After a close first half the girls trailed by 3 and unfortunately couldn’t close the gap with Woodmill A being crowded Fife Champions at the end of the match. However, 2nd place and runners up to this year’s championship is something to be extremely proud of! The girls’ mindset and resilience on court was something to be admired!
To top off a brilliant day, Evie R. was voted ‘Best Player’ of the entire tournament for her skill set and tactical play on court! Throughout the day, umpires vote for the best player each game and Evie took a clean sweep for all group games! Huge well done!
Our S3’s campaign is not over yet, they have successfully qualified for the semi-final of the S3 league. Could it be a Woodmill rematch?? Watch this space!
