SQA Appeals (Mrs Davidson)
Can pupils who received an email re appeals, please check the list outside Mrs Davidson’s office. Red names – please come to D8 Pd 4 today. Other colours – please come to D8 Pd 5 today. Apologies to staff for the interruption.

S5 Lift Off (Miss Nessel)
Pupils who are currently on the list for S5 Lift Off, your first session will be today, Period 2. If you no longer wish to be involved, please let Miss Nessel know in D8 ASAP.

S6 Lift Off (Mr Sanderson)
Can all S6 pupils who are wanting to go onto University/ College should attend the introductory session P2 today. It will now be in the Assembly Hall. Any questions then please see Mr Sanderson.

Senior Netball (Miss Kirkwood)
Please can all those interested in playing in the senior netball team, meet today at break in the boys’ gym.

Out of Class Passes (Mrs Kerek)
All of Mrs Kerek’s pupils who have had out of class passes – for any reason – who have not collected these from her – please go to Guidance to collect. PLEASE NOTE: Last Year’s passes are NO LONGER VALID and pupils must collect updated passes.

S5/S6 EMA (Mrs Cook)
If you have applied and been approved for EMA, please bring your completed Learning Agreement form to the school office. We cannot proceed with any payments until this has been done. If you have still to apply, please do this as soon as you can. Any applications received by Fife Council after 30 September 2023 cannot be backdated and you will only be paid from the date the application is received. Please remember you also need to make a new application each academic year.

S5 & S6’s Only – Mentor in Violence Protection (Miss Johnston)
Mentors in Violence protection is a programme in schools and is a peer education programme providing young people with the language and framework to explore and challenge the attitudes, beliefs and cultural norms that underpin gender-based violence, bullying and other forms of abuse.

We are looking for any S5 or S6’s who would be interested in being involved in this over the school year. Please fill out the form if you wish to be a part of it or speak to Miss Johnston, Mr Farquharson, Mrs Dempsey, Mrs Dalziel or Jayne.

KHS Radio Show on K107FM (Dr Murray)
Are you a known “chatterbox”? Do you love a bit of music? Are you interested in working in the media (TV, radio etc.)? If the answer to any of these questions is “yes” then presenting on the radio could be for you. We present a weekly show on Kirkcaldy’s radio station, K107FM every Saturday morning. You could be involved, even if you’re never available on a Saturday! We meet every Friday in A4 (Dr Murray’s room in Science) to plan the show. Come along and bring your lunch! See Dr M for a lunch/building pass.

KHS D&D (Dungeons and Dragons) Group (Dr Murray/Miss Collins)
The KHS D&D Group meets in D2 (Home Ec) every Friday after school. Take part in exciting adventures and storytelling. It’s all up to the fate of the dice!

Basketball & Badminton Clubs (Mr Harrower)
Basketball and Badminton clubs will start on Monday afterschool in the games hall from 3:15-4:15. All pupils in S1-S6 welcome.

Fitzgerald Trust Award Scheme (Mrs McNab)
Applications for this funding are welcomed from all S5 & S6 pupils residing in Kirkcaldy. You will receive instructions via Tutor on how to apply. All applications will be done online this year by using the link or QR code provided. Please submit applications by 8 September 2023.

S6 Hoodies (Miss Lipton)
Please remember to submit your S6 Leaver Hoodie order – £20 each – £5 deposit required to secure.

LGBT+ Group (Dr Murray)
The LGBT+ Group meets on Tuesday lunchtime in A4 (Dr Murray’s room in Science). It is a social space open to EVERYONE whether you are Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, any other identity, or an ally of the community. See Dr Murray for a pass if you want to come. Bring your lunch!

Enterprising Maths Club (Mr Jones)
Are you good at maths? Would you like to represent the school in maths competitions? All S1-S4’s are welcome to come Enterprising Maths Club, every Tuesday lunchtime in C3.

KHS Glee Club (Mrs Duckett)
KHS Glee Club with Mrs Duckett and Mr Wilkie begins today after school, 3:15pm – 4:15pm in E10. No auditions, anyone who is interested in trying out singing in a show choir is welcome! Songs from all musicals – Disney, Rock, Juke-Box, Book, Class covered! Please see Mrs Duckett for more information.

National 5 Maths/Apps Study Support (Mr Jones)
Pop along to ask questions, get help with homework or just have a quiet space to study. Every Wednesday lunchtime in C3.

Rights Respecting Schools Group & Ambassadors (Ms Young)
Our award winning group will restart  – Wednesday 23 August in B14 at 1:15 pm. It’s a really enthusiastic group who fight for and promote the rights of others, both across the school and in the wider world and community. Can all members attend as well as all pupils who put down their names to become Rights Ambassadors. You can collect a lunch pass from me any time before next Wednesday to give you permission to be in school during lunch. Any new staff who would like to come along and find out what the group is about are also welcome!

Equality Group (Dr Murray)
The KHS Equality Group meets every Wednesday lunchtime in A4. Anyone who is interested in any aspect of equality is welcome whether it be age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation. See Dr Murray for a pass. Bring you lunch!
