Hot Meal: Soup of the day, Steak mince and potatoes or vegetable curry.

Water Safety Talks (Mrs Hume)
Water Safety talks will take place for S4-6 today. S5/6 should go to the Assembly Hall period 4 and S4 should go period 5. The talks are expected to last approximately 30 minutes. Teachers should accompany their classes.

Iceland 2024 (Miss Wallace)
Reminder for those attending the Iceland trip in 2024 there is a parent’s information evening tonight, Thursday 8 June, in the Assembly hall at 5-6pm.

Fife Schools Athletics Championships (Mrs Steedman)
Can all those who were selected to compete at the above event, please ensure you return your permission slip asap to a teacher in the PE Department.

Prefect Meeting (Mrs Davidson)
There will be a Prefect meeting tomorrow in the Dinner Hall at tutor, please register at tutor first.

Manga/Anime Lunch Club (Ms Kelsey)
Can any pupil who would be interested in attending a lunch club dedicated to watching, reading, drawing, and talking about anime/manga please come to Ms Kelsey in B29. She would like to get an idea of the number of pupils who might be interested and an idea of what day would suit everyone best. This club would begin after the Summer holidays, so please make sure to come to her before the holidays begin.

Edinburgh Pride – Saturday 24 June (Dr Murray) 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️
A group from KHS will be attending Edinburgh Pride on Saturday 24 June, leaving Kirkcaldy at about 10:30am and returning sometime after 3:30pm.  Prides are for ANYONE who want to celebrate equality and diversity and/or wants to protest about the remaining inequalities in the world.  We will join the march before spending some time in the Youth Zone, run by our friends at LGBT Youth Scotland.  If you want to go, collect a permission form from Dr Murray!

Leadership Opportunities Form (Miss Hay)
Being involved in these projects will help you develop many interpersonal skills which will be desirable for future study or work. They also give you a chance to work on issues which you find interesting and important. Please scan the QR code below to sign up.

S6 House Captains (Miss Lipton)
Reminder that the S6 House Captain applications are open until this Friday 9 June – this is a fantastic S6 leadership opportunity, please get involved!

DYW Padlet (Mrs Whyte)
A lot of pupils will be looking to gain some work experience, this is a great opportunity to give you a flavour of the world of work and ‘try out’ a profession. If this is something, you are interested in there is a form to complete on the Padlet. There is also a great opportunity for any S5 pupils who are looking to study medicine. For anyone looking to leave school there are a number of vacancies including – apprenticeships in Admin, at Scotrail, Exxon, Babcock and Sky Television advertised. As well as a range of part and full time jobs.

Speak to Mrs Whyte if you require any help with applications, finding jobs or want some work experience.

This now takes place in E10 every day of the week, except Wednesdays.

String Group (Mrs Simpson)
The String Group will take place on Thursday lunchtime in E13.

Calm Colouring Lunch Club (Ms Geddes/Miss Millar)
If you would like a calm space to have lunch and do a bit of colouring, with the option to chat through any questions with our Mental Health Ambassadors, then this is the club for you! Head along to A3 (Science) where Miss Millar and Ms Geddes will have all the resources you need to chill out and recharge for the afternoon ahead. Today from 1:10pm.

Gardening Club – Thursday Lunch (Mrs Brown)
If you enjoy a bit of gardening, and you’d like to help to maintain and improve our school garden, then please bring your lunch and meet me in the Serenity Garden, and/ or meet me after school 3:20-3:50pm. Gardening is a great way to relax and learn new skills.

Girls’ Rugby (Ms McMahon)
Meet Thursday after school 3:30pm at PE. Wear PE kit for outdoors and astro shoes if you have them.

FRIDAY 9 JUNE

Hot Meal: Soup of the day, Breaded fish or Salmon fish fingers and chips or Vegetable pasta bake.

Card Club (Mrs Rae)
Come along to the PSO base at lunchtime to play various card games and make new friends. Maybe your friends are off, and you have nowhere to go or you see yourself as a real “card shark” all are very welcome!

Wind Band (Mrs Simpson)
The Wind Band will take place on Friday lunchtime in E13/Dance Studio.

Health Zone Drop In (Mrs Davidson)
Every Friday lunchtime, the school nurse team run a confidential drop in session. They are situated behind the careers room opposite the main office.

S2 Reading Group (Miss Britton)
S2 Reading Group during Friday lunchtimes in room B23. It’s a chance to practice reading out loud.

Have Lunch with A Hero! (Mrs Brown)
Some people have NEVER seen this, so we’re enjoying watching it again!
See Mrs Brown for a note and bring your lunch to C11 if you’d like to watch this Disney classic at lunch on Friday.
