S1 Netball (Mrs Little)
Unfortunately, Mrs Little has had to make the decision to withdraw from Wednesday’s netball tournament as we now do not have enough players. Really sorry girls! There will be a fun night on Thursday at netball training with pizza and games. Even if you are still injured, please come along for a fun last session!

S1 Football (Mr Pennel)
Can all pupils who have been selected to play in upcoming tournaments this Wednesday and Friday, please attend a meeting at break today in the boy’s gym.

S3 Helpers – P7 Sports Day (Mr Greenhorn)
Can the S3 pupils that have offered to support Active Schools with the P7 Sports Day, please meet me in the boys’ gym at break time to discuss roles and responsibilities for our event on Monday 29 May, 12:00-14:00pm. A print-out of those shortlisted as volunteers will be on display in the PE dept and outside the Active Schools office.

S3 YPI Final (Mr Plumridge)
For all S3 pupils who won their YPI class final, please join our MS teams page using the following code: g6kznku. It is essential that every member of your winning team joins the teams page in tutor this morning, to receive vital information on the school final. If there any issues with code, please see Mr Plumridge in C12 at break or lunchtime today.

Sports Day – Friday P6 & P7 (Mrs Steedman)
Congratulations to all those who have qualified for Sports Day. All names have been posted in the PE department on the notice board at the stairs and the S4 Core notice board. There has been a list of reserves selected for each event, if you are a reserve, you will be contacted by end of the day Thursday if you are invited to Sports Day. Please bring your PE kit and come down to the PE department at 1:30pm on Friday then head along to the games hall. If you do not want to participate in Sports Day but your name is on the board then please come and speak to a member of PE staff. Good Luck to all involved!

S3 SE (Mrs Dempsey)
The police/youth justice are coming in to deliver a lesson on Monday 22 May (periods 1-5) and Tuesday 23 May (periods 3-7) in the IT Suite. The following S3 SE classes (Class/Guidance Teacher) will be expected to go to the IT Suite at the following times.

Tuesday 23 May:
Period 3 – 3AX – JK
Period 4 – 3CX – ES
Period 5 – 3OX – MS
Period 6 – 3OY – CK
Period 7 – 3CW – ND

This will mean possibly coming out of your current class but teachers have been made aware. You can see a copy of the lists of pupils outside the Guidance base on the glass doors/cabinets. Make sure you check this week.

DYW Padlet (Mrs Whyte)
A lot of pupils will be looking to gain some work experience, this is a great opportunity to give you a flavour of the world of work and ‘try out’ a profession. If this is something, you are interested in there is a form to complete on the Padlet. There is also a great opportunity for any S5 pupils who are looking to study medicine. For anyone looking to leave school there are a number of vacancies including – apprenticeships in Admin, at Scotrail, Exxon, Babcock and Sky Television advertised. As well as a range of part and full time jobs.

Speak to Mrs Whyte if you require any help with applications, finding jobs or want some work experience.

Lessons are on today in the Music department. You can find your time on Teams or on the department timetable board.

LGBT+ Group (LGBT+ Committee)
The legendary Kirkcaldy High LGBT+ Group meets at lunchtime TODAY! This group is for anyone of any identity including allies. Dr Murray’s classroom (A4) is the place to be and all are welcome.

S2-S3 Music Lunch Club (Mrs Duckett)
This now takes place in E10 every day of the week, except Wednesdays.

Badminton Club (Mr Harrower)
Badminton Club will be on afterschool today in the Games Hall 3:30-4:15pm. All pupils are welcome.

Basketball Club (Mr Harrower)
Basketball Club will be on afterschool today in the gyms 3:30-4:15pm. All pupils are welcome.

KHS Choir! (Mrs Duckett)
Open to everyone, no auditions! After school on Tuesdays with Mrs Duckett in E10.

Dance Club (Miss Johnston)
Dance club will be on after school every Tuesday from 3:30-4:15pm. Head to the dance studio after school.

WEDNESDAY 24 MAY

Hot Meal: Soup of the day, Roast chicken, Yorkshire pudding and gravy or Tomato and basil pasta.

Lessons are on today in the Music department. You can find your time on Teams or on the department timetable board.

Equalities Group (Dr Murray)
The Equality Group exists to tackle all sorts of inequality such as sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia, disablism, and other variations. Joining this group is a great way to actually change things at KHS. We meet in A4 every Wednesday lunchtime. Bring your lunch!

S1-S3 Maths Support Group (Mr Jones)
Need help with maths homework? Stuck on something you’ve looked at in lessons? Come along to the S1-S3 maths support group, every Wednesday lunchtime (1:05-1:40pm). Bring your lunch, bring your questions.

Guitar Ensemble (Mrs Simpson)
The Guitar Ensemble will take place on Wednesday lunchtime in E13.

S3 Netball (Mrs Steedman)
All S3 pupils interested in playing netball this year, training will be afterschool every Wednesday from 3:30-4:15pm.
