LGBT+ History Month and “Purple Friday” (Equality Group)
February is “LGBT+ History Month” at KHS, when we celebrate the contributions LGBT+ people have made to the world over the years. Keep an eye on the KHS LGBT+ Twitter for the historical facts and interesting people and put Friday 24 February in your diary. That will be “Purple Friday”, your opportunity to wear something purple to show your support for equality and diversity at KHS and across the world! More information next week! 🏳️‍🌈 🏳️‍⚧️

Science Research Placements (Miss Irvine/Dr Murray/Miss Tennant)
We have an opportunity for folk in S5 to spend some time during the summer working in REAL science/engineering labs. If your PE teacher is either Mr Stewart, Mrs Little or Miss Kirkwood, please check the noticeboard at the bottom of the PE steps to check arrangements for your class. Please still bring your PE kit, as the class may be covered by another teacher.

Home Economics S1 Tuesday Treats (Mrs McMahon)
All S1 pupils who have received an invitation to this terms ‘Tuesday Treats’ should come along to the outside kitchen (A11) at breaktime TODAY. We look forward to seeing you all for a wee treat and a celebration of your success.

BBC Young Reporter Competition (Mrs Whyte)

S6 Yearbook – Urgency (Miss Lipton)
Last date for cash payments is Tuesday 14 February & iPayimpact payments Friday 17 February. See Miss Lipton ASAP if there are any issues.

S6 Leaver Hoodies (Mrs Rae)
S6 Leaver Hoodies can now be paid for on iPayimpact. They are priced at £22 and this includes nickname and a huge choice of colours. All payments to be in by 16 February. Please come and talk to Mrs Rae if you have any questions or there are any barriers to you being able to pay for a hoodie.

DYW Padlet (Mrs Whyte)
Lots of new things on the Padlet including:

• Apprenticeships – Fife Council Trades, Diageo, Babcock, University of St Andrews
• Volunteering Opportunities – including opportunities for those aged 13+ who want to start their careers early.
• Job Fairs and Events – Including Edinburgh Airport, Jobs in Fife, Retail, Accountancy

The legendary Kirkcaldy High LGBT+ Group meets at lunchtime TODAY! This group is for anyone of any identity including allies. Dr Murray’s classroom (A4) is the place to be and all are welcome.

S2-S4 Music Lunch Club (Mrs Duckett)
This now takes place in E10 every day of the week, except Wednesdays.

S1-S6 Badminton Club (Mr Harrower)
Badminton Club will be on afterschool today in the Games Hall 3:30-4:15pm. All pupils are welcome.

Open to everyone, no auditions! After school on Tuesdays with Mrs Duckett in E10.

The Yearbook Committee will meet after school every Tuesday from 3:15pm in D9.

Dance club will be on after school every Tuesday from 3:30-4:15pm. Head to the dance studio after school.
