S3 First Chances (Mr Dick)
Reminder to pupils to go to their original enrichment class.

Fife Festival of Music (Mrs Simpson)
Could all musicians involved in the Fife Festival of music today please remember instruments and music. Please meet in the following locations on Tuesday after tutor:

Choir – E10
Wind band – E13
Guitar group – E11
String group – normal room

Biology Study Support (Miss Irvine)
Biology study support is cancelled after school today due to a staff meeting. It will resume as normal next week.

Badminton and Basketball Clubs (Mr Harrower)
Due to a staff meeting, both clubs are cancelled afterschool tomorrow. Both clubs will resume next week.

Dance Club (Miss Johnston)
Dance club is cancelled after school today due to a meeting on after school.

S4 Practical Assessments (Practical Cookery) – Wednesday 8 February P1&2 (Mrs McMahon)
Please arrive in the HE dept at 8:45am (after registering at tutor) to set up for your practical assessment which starts at 9:00am prompt.

S3 Duke of Edinburgh (Miss Wallace)
Reminder application forms to take part in Bronze DofE, from the S3 assembly, need to be handed to Miss Wallace before Tuesday 14th February if you want to be considered. If you require a new form, missed the chance or have any questions please see Miss Wallace in B10.

S1-S6 Gymnastics Competition (Miss Kirkwood)
If you are interested in taking part in the Fife Schools Gymnastics competition, could you please attend a meeting at break on Wednesday outside the P.E classroom.

2023 Battlefields Trip (Mr Harrower)
All S3 pupils going on the Battlefields trip in April this year should attend an important meeting this Wednesday at 1:15pm in room B17. Attendance is essential, as we have important information to give you.

S1 & S2 Netball (Mrs Steedman)
Netball will be on Wednesday after school instead of Thursday for this week only!

S3-S6 Business Pupils (Miss Nessel)
Every pupil taking Business in S3-S6 will be attending a talk from a local entrepreneur on Thursday Period 4 in the Assembly Hall. Register with your normal teacher first and then head along to the assembly hall. If you have any questions, see your Business teacher.

BBC Young Reporter Competition (Mrs Whyte)
Are you interested in journalism, storytelling, the media? Do you have a really good personal story to tell? The BBC are looking for stories to share on their website, news, tv, radio and podcasts. If you are interested in sharing your story – Mrs Whyte will be helping pupils with the BBC Young Reporter competition. This meeting will be now held on Tuesday 13 February at 1.30pm.

S6 Yearbook – Urgency (Miss Lipton)
Last call for all Yearbook submissions.. statements, photos & signatures need to be submitted before 10 February. Last date for cash payments is Tuesday 14 February & iPayimpact payments Friday 17 February. See Miss Lipton ASAP if there are any issues.

Bowling with LEAP Sports (Dr Murray)
February is LGBT History Month and to mark that LEAP Sports have organised a bowling competition on Sunday 12 February at Tenpin Falkirk. It’s for aged 14+ – if you fancy being part of it see Dr Murray in A4!

S6 Leaver Hoodies (Mrs Rae)
S6 Leaver Hoodies can now be paid for on iPayimpact. They are priced at £22 and this includes nickname and a huge choice of colours. All payments to be in by 16 February. Please come and talk to Mrs Rae if you have any questions or there are any barriers to you being able to pay for a hoodie.

DYW Padlet (Mrs Whyte)
Lots of new things on the Padlet including:

  • Apprenticeships – Fife Council Trades, Diageo, Babcock, University of St Andrews
  • Volunteering Opportunities – including opportunities for those aged 13+ who want to start their careers early.
  • Job Fairs and Events – Including Edinburgh Airport, Jobs in Fife, Retail, Accountancy

Speak to Mrs Whyte if you require any help with applications, finding jobs or want some work experience.

Lessons are on today in the Music department. You can find your time on Teams or on the department timetable board.

LGBT+ Group (LGBT+ Committee)
The legendary Kirkcaldy High LGBT+ Group meets at lunchtime TODAY! This group is for anyone of any identity including allies. Dr Murray’s classroom (A4) is the place to be and all are welcome.

S2-S4 Music Lunch Club (Mrs Duckett)
This now takes place in E10 every day of the week, except Wednesdays.

KHS Choir! (Mrs Duckett)
Open to everyone, no auditions! After school on Tuesdays with Mrs Duckett in E10.

S6 Yearbook Committee (Miss Lipton)
The Yearbook Committee will meet after school every Tuesday from 3:15pm in D9.

Drama Study Support (Mr McPherson)
Drama study support S4, S5 and S6 is on today after school in Studio 1.

WEDNESDAY 8 FEBRUARY

Need help with maths homework? Stuck on something you’ve looked at in lessons? Come along to the S1-S3 maths support group, every Wednesday lunchtime (1:05-1:40pm). Bring your lunch, bring your questions.

Guitar Ensemble (Mrs Simpson)
The Guitar Ensemble will take place on Wednesday lunchtime in E13.

S3 & Senior Netball (Mrs Steedman)
All S3 pupils and Senior pupils (S4, S5 & S6) interested in playing netball this year, training will be afterschool every Wednesday from 3:30-4:15pm.

Senior Art & Fashion Study Support (Mrs Donaldson)
All pupils S4-S6 studying Art & Design or Fashion & Textiles are welcome to attend Wednesday study support with Mrs Donaldson, D15 at 3:15-5pm.
