S3 Attending Drugs Educational Theatre Performance (S Hamilton)
All S3 will attend a theatre performance on Tuesday 31 January. The play is about the real story of Daniel Spargo-Mabbs who tragically died after taking ecstasy for the first time at a party. While the play will be beneficial to most, the story of Dan’s death could trigger powerful emotions and trauma in some learners. Please speak to your guidance teacher or Mrs Hamilton if you would prefer not to attend.
Pupils with surnames A to L will attend during periods 1 & 2. You should register at tutor and then proceed to the Assembly Hall. You MUST sit in the allocated area for your class, so that we can take registers accurately.
Pupils with surnames M to Z will attend from 10:55 to 12:25. You should attend your period 3 class as normal, and your teacher will give you instructions about when and how you will leave.

No Ties Girls Football (Mrs Steedman)
Every Friday at lunch time we will be doing no ties girls football where you can come down to the games hall for a game of football. You do not need a change of PE kit, just tie off and play (but if you want to get changed you can)! All girls of all ages and all abilities are invited along! This will now be instead of training after school on a Tuesday!

S3 Engineering the Future for Girls Programme – Strathclyde University Summer School (Dr Black)
This programme is run by Strathclyde University to promote careers in Engineering for girls. Strathclyde University are running an in-person summer school this year (5 – 8 June 2023). You will get the opportunity to work with university and industry professionals and learn about the various careers paths that engineering can lead you to. If you are interested, please speak to either Dr Black (A6) or Miss Tennant (A7) for more information about the application process. Applications are open and the closing date for applications is Monday 6 February.

Bowling with LEAP Sports (Dr Murray)
February is LGBT History Month and to mark that LEAP Sports have organised a bowling competition on Sunday 12 February at Tenpin Falkirk. It’s for aged 14+ – if you fancy being part of it see Dr Murray in A4!

S6 Leaver Hoodies can now be paid for on iPayimpact. They are priced at £22 and this includes nickname and a huge choice of colours. All payments to be in by 16 February. Please come and talk to Mrs Rae if you have any questions or there are any barriers to you being able to pay for a hoodie.

This is now the time of year when employers start to look for apprentices/ employees. Recent feedback from employers have said that alongside qualifications they are looking for “A person that is willing to learn and go that extra mile. Someone who has an interest and cares about the work they do.” Could that be you?
