FRIDAY 13 JANUARY

Hot Meal: Soup of the day, Breaded fish or Salmon fish fingers and chips or Vegetable pasta bake.

S4-6 Prelims (J Davidson)
Can all pupils please be respectful when moving around the school. Exams are happening in several places (Assembly Hall, Library, D11, Langs Corridor etc) from Tues 10-Mon 23 Jan inclusive. Please be as quiet as possible, remember this could be your exams when you are older!! Pupils should meet Mrs Davidson 15 mins before the prelim at the War Memorial and can use the Dinnerhall between papers.

Woodwind and Brass Lessons (Mrs Simpson)
There are no woodwind or brass lessons on today as instructors are off unwell. Wind band will not be on at lunchtime, but pupils can still use E13 for lunch.

S2 Football (Mr Geissler)
Can all S2 boys involved in training meet in Mr Geissler’s room (B2) at break time today.

S3 Netball (Miss Kirkwood)
Could both A and B teams meet in the girls’ gym at break time on Monday. Please see Miss Kirkwood if you cannot attend.

Senior Netball (Miss Kirkwood)
Could the Senior A team please meet in the girls’ gym at breaktime on Tuesday. Please see Miss Kirkwood if you cannot attend.

S6 Yearbook (Miss Lipton)
Final call for S6 Yearbook submissions! We need all statements/pictures etc before next Friday 20 January & payment needs to be made before Friday 17 February.

Bowling with LEAP Sports (Dr Murray)
February is LGBT History Month and to mark that LEAP Sports have organised a bowling competition on Sunday 12 February at Tenpin Falkirk. It’s for aged 14+ – if you fancy being part of it see Dr Murray in A4!

S6 Leaver Hoodies (Mrs Rae)
S6 Leaver Hoodies can now be paid for on iPayimpact. They are priced at £22 and this includes nickname and a huge choice of colours. All payments to be in by 16 February. Please come and talk to Mrs Rae if you have any questions or there are any barriers to you being able to pay for a hoodie.

DYW Padlet (Mrs Whyte)
New opportunities including many Apprenticeships. January is when companies start to advertise for their next intake of Apprenticeships. You can see on the padlet that you can get an apprenticeship in most industries and it is a great way to gain a qualification but also earning money. There are many industries where this is a better route into continued employment that going to University/ College. Speak to Mrs Whyte or the Careers Advisors for further information.

Lessons are on today in the Music department. You can find your time on Teams or on the department timetable board.

S2-S4 Music Lunch Club (Mrs Duckett)
This now takes place in E10 every day of the week, except Wednesdays.

Card Club (Mrs Rae)
Come along to the PSO base at lunchtime to play various card games and make new friends. Maybe your friends are off, and you have nowhere to go or you see yourself as a real “card shark” all are very welcome!

Health Zone Drop In (Mrs Davidson)
Every Friday lunchtime, the school nurse team run a confidential drop in session. They are situated behind the careers room opposite the main office.

S1 Reading Group (Miss Britton)
S1 Reading Group during Friday lunchtimes in room B23. It’s a chance to practice reading out loud.

Have Lunch with A Hero! (Mrs Brown)
The swords and sandals are back, by popular demand! Bring your lunch along to C11, if you’d like to watch this classic with monsters by Ray Harryhausen.

MONDAY 16 JANUARY

Hot Meal: Soup of the day, Chicken fried rice or Macaroni cheese and garlic bread.

Percussion Lessons (Mrs Simpson)
Lessons are on today in the Music department. You can find your time on Teams or on the department timetable board.

S2-S4 Music Lunch Club (Mrs Duckett)
This now takes place in E10 every day of the week, except Wednesdays.

Percussion Ensemble (Mrs Simpson)
The Percussion Ensemble will take place on Monday lunchtime in E11.

Chess Club (Dr Black)
Chess club will be running on Monday lunchtimes in A6, 1:10-1:40pm. Grand masters in the making, you can learn how to play if you have not played before.

Biology Numeracy Study Support (Mrs Gannon)
Get support with Biology numeracy and problem solving. Monday 3:15-4:15pm in A1/A2.
