S5 Mock Course Choice (Mrs Hamilton)
All S5 should go to the Assembly Hall during tutor to complete their mock course choice.

Courses (Mrs Davidson)
Fife College staff will be in the SDS Kirkcaldy centre on Monday 19th from 3-5pm to promote their courses and meet anyone who may be interested in college. Anyone wishing to attend should let guidance/office know re attendance. Thanks

 

Outside Cafe (Mrs Hardie)
The outside cafe will be closed until after Christmas.

S1 Pantomime Trip (Mrs Patton & Miss Robertson)
A reminder to all first years attending the Pantomime, that it is this Friday! If you have not already done so your medical form and permission slip must be handed in to the office. On Friday, please make sure that you are wearing full school uniform, register with your morning tutor as quickly as you can, then head to the dinner hall with your belongings where you will be met by Mrs Patton and Miss Robertson. We are really looking forward to this trip and hope you are, too.

Crochet & Craft Club (Mx Donaldson)
Calling all crochet lovers and fellow crafters we will be meeting at Friday lunchtime in A2 (starting at 1:10pm), we will have our first session this week continuing every week after the Holidays. Please bring along any craft projects (e.g. crochet, knitting, needlework) you have or just join us for a relaxing afternoon. I will have spare wool available but will need you to bring your own hooks at present. Hope to see you there.

Staff Bake Off Results – House Captains (K Lipton)
After an icy battle of the houses on Wednesday night – we’re pleased to announce the winners of the staff bake off & best biscuits in the land are Miss Lipton & Miss Torrens for ADAM SMITH. Carlyle come in 2nd place meaning Oswald took the last place and are now the proud owners of the wooden spoons.

 

Girls Rugby is Coming!!! (Mrs McMahon, Maths)
A girls only after school rugby club will start in the New Year! Probably on a Thursday, but this could be revised. Scan the QR code to register interest.

Christmas Tutor Quizzes (Miss Hay)
Our House Captains have created a few Christmas Tutor Quizzes for this week. Complete these throughout the week (one entry per class) to earn some points for you house. You will need to be logged into your GLOW account.

S6 Leaver Hoodies (Mrs Rae)
S6 Leaver Hoodies can now be paid for on iPayimpact. They are priced at £22 and this includes nickname and a huge choice of colours. All payments to be in by 16 February. Please come and talk to Mrs Rae if you have any questions or there are any barriers to you being able to pay for a hoodie.

Christmas Baubles (Mrs Rae)
Personalised Christmas baubles are available all week from the PSO Base priced at £1 each. You can have any name in a variety of colours which can be a perfect gift or a lovely way to honour a loved one who has passed away, you also have the choice to take the bauble straight home or have it on our remembrance tree at the office first. All money raised will be donated to Paige’s musical Butterflies.

Kirkcaldy Foodbank (Mrs Morris’ S3 YPI Enrichment Class)
Mrs Morris’ S3 YPI class have had a meeting with Kirkcaldy Foodbank and as a result they have managed to get boxes for donations. We would like the whole school community to get involved. To help support the Foodbank you could donate things like toiletries, tinned foods, chocolate, sweets etc. To donate you should bring your donation into school and drop it off in one of the black crates at the S6 Prefect Base (opposite the main Office). It would mean a lot if you could help our local food bank. Even if you bring in just one thing then a person will have something to eat or something they desperately need. Please leave your donations between now and Monday 19 December. Thanks so much for your support!

S6 Prom Payments (Miss Lipton)
Can all S6 attending Prom please pay the next £10 towards the total due before the end of term 21/12/22. Payments via iPayimpact preferred – if you need to set this up, please see the office for instructions.

Signed Rangers Top Raffle (Mr Sanderson)
Mr Sanderson is raffling off a Rangers top signed by the current 22/23 season first team to raise funds for the Washington Trip. Raffle tickets will be on sale at break in B14 for £3. Tickets will then be on sale every Tuesday and Thursday at break. The winner will be announced the last week of term. Any questions please see Mr Sanderson or Miss Young.

DYW Padlet (Mrs Whyte)
New opportunities including many Apprenticeships. January is when companies start to advertise for their next intake of Apprenticeships. You can see on the padlet that you can get an apprenticeship in most industries and it is a great way to gain a qualification but also earning money. There are many industries where this is a better route into continued employment that going to University/ College. Speak to Mrs Whyte or the Careers Advisors for further information.

S2-S4 Music Lunch Club (Mrs Duckett)
This now takes place in E10 every day of the week, except Wednesdays.

Card Club (Mrs Rae)
Come along to the PSO base at lunchtime to play various card games and make new friends. Maybe your friends are off, and you have nowhere to go or you see yourself as a real “card shark” all are very welcome!

Wind Band (Mrs Simpson)
The Wind Band will take place on Friday lunchtime in E13/Dance Studio.

Health Zone Drop In (Mrs Davidson)
Every Friday lunchtime, the school nurse team run a confidential drop in session. They are situated behind the careers room opposite the main office.

S1 Reading Group (Miss Britton)
S1 Reading Group during Friday lunchtimes in room B23. It’s a chance to practice reading out loud.

Have Lunch with a Hero! ( Classics Film Club)
The swords and sandals are back, by popular demand! Bring your lunch along to C11, if you’d like to watch this classic with monsters by Ray Harryhausen.

The Percussion Ensemble will take place on Monday lunchtime in E11.

Chess Club (Dr Black)
Chess club will be running on Monday lunchtimes in A6, 1:10-1:40pm. Grand masters in the making, you can learn how to play if you have not played before.
