MONDAY 15 NOVEMBER

Hot Meal: Carrot and lentil soup, Italian meatballs with spaghetti, vegetables or Chicken rollover/Hot dog and salad.

Message from the Rector (Mr Allan)
Welcome to the week ahead, and to the new tutor arrangements. Tutor is the time to get organised for the day, get checked in and catch up on important information as the “Blue Bulletin” is read out. All the usual classroom expectations apply re face coverings, gum, mobile phones etc. Please remember that this Friday (19 Nov) is a “Dress Down Day” in support of Children in Need.

Art Gallery (Mrs Donaldson)
Please pop by the Art corridor to see if your work has made it to our gallery! Or has your name made it to our “Awesome Artists” praise board. The gallery will change weekly! Our gallery is a small selection of the wonderful work happening here at KHS.

WW1 Remembrance Board (Miss Dalziel)
I would like to say a big thank you to the S3 pupils who gave up their own time last week to help me create the WW1 Remembrance board in my room. Thank you!

S4-S6 Computing Pupils (Miss Young)
All S4-S6 Computing pupils will be taking part in a Computing Roadshow on Friday 19 November between 9am to 12pm. Pupils should make their way to the assembly hall for Period 1. Pupils will attend registration as normal. Please note the assembly hall will be out of bounds for other pupils as a result of the road show during these times.

Scotland v Denmark (Mr English)
All pupils who are travelling on the school trip to the Scotland v Denmark game at Hampden on Monday 15 November must attend a meeting at break today (Monday) in the Boys’ Gym.

Basketball Club (Mr Harrower)
Basketball Club is cancelled tonight and will resume next week.

PE Lost Property (Mr Stewart)
There is a huge amount of lost property been collected this term within the PE Dept. If you have lost an item of clothing or a pair of shoes please come down at lunchtime to check if your item is there before Monday 15 November. Any items not collected will be given to charity.

House Logo Competition (House Captains)
Pupils of S1-S3, are you interested in designing a logo for your house and having the chance to win house points? If so, there will be an another opportunity to complete your logo design at D14, Tuesday 16 November at 1:10pm. This will be the deadline for all designs.

Mental Health Ambassadors (Miss Hay)
There will be no meeting during Tuesday lunchtime this week. Instead, we will meet in B6 during Tutor on Wednesday 17 November. Please register with your Tutor teacher quickly and come to B6.

Dress Down Day (Travel & Tourism Class)
Hello everyone on Friday 19 November there is going to be a dress down day for Children in Need. The theme is all about being yourself. Everyone is equal in school and we should take a chance to celebrate that. There should be no football strips or inappropriate clothing worn on the dress down day. Please also bring a change of kit if you have PE. Pay a donation of £1 or what you can afford in tutor on the day.

Lessons are on today in the music department. You can find your time on Teams or on the department timetable board in E11.

Woodwind Lessons (Mrs Simpson)
Woodwind lessons on today. Please check Teams for your lesson time.

Craft Club (Mrs Patton)
Craft Club will run on a Monday lunchtime, 1:10-1:40pm in C19.

S1 Netball (Mrs Little)
S1 netball will run after school on Monday in the Girls’ Gym from 3:15-4:15pm. Please bring a change of PE kit and water.

S2 Football (Mr Pennel)
S2 Football will run on Monday afterschool (3:30-4:30pm). Training will be on the grass so bring appropriate footwear if possible.

TUESDAY 16 NOVEMBER

Hot Meal: Leek and potato soup, Chicken tikka and rice, naan bread and vegetables or Beef/Vegetable burger, coleslaw and salad.

String Group (Mrs Simpson)
String group is on today in E13. Please bring your lunch and be ready to play for 1:15pm.

LGBT+ Group (LGBT+ Committee)
The legendary and amazing LGBT+ Group meets every Tuesday lunchtime in A4 (Dr Murray’s room in Science) for anyone who wants to have a nice place to sit and enjoy their lunch, get to know other people, make badges, and (new for 2021!) make keyrings. EVERYONE and ANYONE is welcome, hope to see you there!

KHS Community Choir (Mrs Duckett)
This will run on Tuesdays after school in the Assembly Hall, 3:15-4:15pm.

Homework Club (Mrs Patton)
Homework club will be running each Tuesday in C6 from 3:20-4:20pm for all year groups, all subjects.

Badminton Club (Mr Harrower)
Badminton club will be on afterschool on Tuesday in the Games Hall (3:15-4:15pm). All pupils from S1-S6 are welcome to attend.

S1 football will run on Tuesday afterschool (3:30-4:30pm). Training will be on the grass so bring appropriate footwear if possible.

Girls’ Football (Miss Steedman)
Girls’ football training will run on Tuesday afterschool (3:30-4:15pm). Everyone interested in playing in S1 and S2 is welcome along.
