Culture Month (Mrs Gibb)
This month’s Country of the Month is… Japan!

When you see each other, rather than saying hello, let’s use the Japanese word for hello instead:
こんにちは
Kon’nichiwa

Google Translate

Did you know:  Bowing is a key feature of life in Japan. It is used to say hello, to say sorry and to show gratitude for something

Word of the Week (Mrs MacKenzie)

Tenacious

Definition:  Something described as tenacious cannot easily be stopped or pulled apart; in other words, it is firm or strong. Tenacious can also describe something—such as a myth—that continues or persists for a long time, or someone who is determined to do something.

Example:  Caleb was surprised by the crab’s tenacious grip.

Rights of the Fortnight (Mrs Young)
Article 27 – Food, clothing and safe home

Fact:  Did you know that KHS supports young people in this by using donations received from The Big House Multibank which covers article 27. We pass these donations to families in need and often include food, drinks and clothing items. We also have a cost of the school day form that can be filled in by parents to request support for this and a school uniform bank.
