Our S1 pupils embarked on an exciting Interdisciplinary Learning (IDL) adventure called “Jungle Quest” — a day packed with creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving across a range of subjects.
Working in expedition teams, pupils took on different roles — Pathfinder, Protector, Knowledge Keeper, and Storyteller — each bringing unique skills to the group as they journeyed deep into the heart of the jungle.
Throughout the day, they tackled a series of immersive challenges, from decoding ancient legends and solving tricky puzzles to rebuilding lost maps and navigating through survival scenarios. Their “Travel Journal” guided them through each mission — testing their curiosity, resilience, and ability to collaborate under pressure.
Highlights included:
🗺 Rebuilding the Jungle Map using clues and grid coordinates
🧩 Crossing the Fragile Bridge through logic and teamwork
🔥 Campfire Storytelling, where groups pieced together the ancient Legend of the Sunstone
🐅 Survival Challenges identifying helpful and dangerous jungle wildlife
The event encouraged pupils to draw on skills from across the curriculum — Geography, Science, Literacy, Numeracy, and beyond — all while having great fun along the way.
Well done to all of our S1 explorers for their enthusiasm and creativity during this adventure. You truly proved that teamwork, curiosity, and courage can help you survive any jungle! 🌿
