S1-S3 Champions League Match (Mr I’Anson)
Anyone interested in going to see Manchester City v Galatasaray come to a meeting today at break in E9 (DET) This is open to girls and boys in S1-S3.

S1-3 Girls Football (Mrs Steedman)
If any girls would like to play in the football tournament on Friday the 26th of September please come to Mrs Steedman at break today to collect a letter.

S3 Quadcopter (Miss Barclay)
Can all quadcopter entrants please see Miss Barclay in B4 for permission slips for round 2. The venue has changed.

School Show (Mr Wilkie)
All pupils who would like to participate in the next school show please come to Drama on Tuesday 16th September at 3:30 till 4:30’. This is open to pupil from S1 – S6. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring water. If you cannot attend please speak to Ms Bruce or Mr Wilkie.

Digital Leaders Introduction Meeting (Miss Samfat)
Many thanks to everyone that has already signed up to be a Digital Leader. If you have signed up, please attend a short meeting in D5 at break time on Thursday. If you haven’t signed up yet and still wish to do so, please scan the QR code and fill in the short form. Anyone from S1-S6 is welcome to apply.

Wellbeing Wednesday (Mrs Akers)
This month’s Wellbeing Wednesday theme is ‘Sleep More’. Sleeping more is important for brain development, concentration, rest, and repair. You can do this by sticking to a routine, reducing screen use, and not snacking before bed.

More information is in the Home Economics Corridor or has been shared via the school’s social media.

Culture Month (Mrs Gibb)
Continuing our celebration of the different cultures and languages within our school, we say goodbye to August and to China, and “Hiya” or “Ciao” to September and to …Italy!

When greeting staff and each other, instead of saying “Hiya”, please say Ciao. The link to hear it pronounced is:  click here to hear it

Uncanny

Definition: Uncanny is typically used to describe something that is strange or unusual in a way that is surprising or difficult to understand. It can also describe something
that seems to have a  supernatural character or origin.
Example: The child has an uncanny ability to recognize streets and locations she’s seen only once or twice before.

TODAYS STANDING NOTICES

KHS Radio Show on K107FM (Dr Murray) 📻
We present a weekly show on Kirkcaldy’s radio station, K107FM every Wednesday. You could be involved. We meet every Wednesday in A4 (Dr Murray’s room in Science) to plan the show. Come along and bring your lunch! See Dr M for a lunch/building pass.

S2 Code Club (Mr Turnbull)
Calling all likeminded S2 with an interest in coding. Meet in D6 every Wed. Bring your lunch. See Mr Turnbull in D6 for a pass.

The Treblemakers Choir (Mr Wilkie)
Do you love singing? Do you love performing? Warmup your vocal cords as ‘The Treblemakers Choir’ is just for you. Come and join Mrs Simpson and Mr Wilkie in the Music department on Wednesday’s afterschool in room E13. We are asking you to join The Treblemakers if you have interest in joining future school shows. All are welcome.

Chess Club (Dr Black & Mr Morrice)
Chess club runs Wednesday lunchtimes in A6, 1:10-1:40pm. Beginners to Grand master’s welcome. Collect a lunchtime pass from Dr Black or Mr Morrice if you would like to come along.

S3 & Senior Netball (Mrs Poynter)
There will be S3 and Senior Netball on a Wednesday 3.30 – 4.15

Anime & Manga Club (Mrs Kelsey)
The Anime and Manga club runs every Wednesday lunchtime with Ms Kelsey in B29. Come along to watch anime, read manga, and draw manga.

Physics Study Support (Ms Solowczuk)
This will run on Wednesdays after school. Come and see any Physics teacher in A7, A9 or A10

THURSDAY 11 SEPTEMBER

Hot Meal:  Soup of the day, Fish Fingers or Scottish Breaded Haddock served with Chips, Southern Style Chicken Goujon Fajita, Quorn Fajita. Chicken Fries at breaktime.

Gardening Club – Thursday Lunchtime (Mrs Brown)
If you enjoy being in nature and would like to be involved with looking after the school garden, then join Gardening Club – Thursday lunchtimes! Meet me at the garden, with your lunch, asap after the bell.

School Nurse Service (School Nursing Team)
The school nurse service runs in Meeting Room 1 every Thursday at break time. You can see them for all issues health related. Please use the QR code below to request an appointment.

Chemistry Study Support (KHS Chemistry Team)
Are you baffled by bonding, addled by atoms, or flummoxed by formulae? If so, Chemistry Study Support is available Thursday after school in A4/A5/A6. Bring all your problems to the lab bench. You could even use it as a quiet space to get some homework done. Everyone is welcome!

S1 & S2 Netball (Mrs Poynter)
S1 & S2 Netball will be on a Thursday 3.30 – 4.15.

Japanese Club (Mrs Morris)
Come and join Mrs Morris in C9 after school for Japanese Club.
