S2 Dance Auditions (Mrs Johnston)
A reminder the S2 School of Dance auditions are Tuesday & Wednesday at lunch time this week. Please head to the dance studio as soon as you have grabbed your lunch.

MVP Mentors (Mentors in Violence Prevention – Mrs Dempsey)
All S5 and S6 who are interested in signing up to be a MVP Mentor please use the QR Code that will be shared with you in PSE from your Guidance Teacher. Mr F has the QR Code if you miss PSE or give your name to Mrs Dempsey.

It is a brilliant opportunity to be part of a peer mentoring programme, and you will be trained over 2 days to deliver a couple of lessons to the younger year groups on preventing and responding to all forms of gender based violence. If this is something you would like to be involved in but not keen for delivering lessons, there are other areas and jobs you can do too, just get signed up.

Gardening Club – Thursday Lunchtime (Mrs Brown)
This is our school garden. It is located at the back of the Science block. I’m delighted that the netting helped to protect most of the flowers from the rabbit, over the holidays!
If you enjoy being in nature, and would like to be involved with looking after the school garden then join Gardening Club – Thursday lunchtimes! Meet me at the garden, with your lunch, asap after the bell.

S3-S4 Enterprising Maths Challenge (Miss Barclay)
It’s time for the annual Enterprising Maths Challenge! The competition includes: design a poster, maths challenge, practical activity and relay race, and you will be guided through the process by a maths teacher. Each team consists of two S3 students and two S4 students. The Fife heat is in September. Please let Miss Barclay (B4) know before Friday if you are in S3 or S4 and are interested in taking part.

S2, S3 & Senior Netball (Mrs Poynter)
If you are interested in playing for either the S2, S3 or Senior netball teams this year can you please attend a meeting at breaktime today in the Boys Gym. If you cannot attend please see Mrs Poynter ASAP.

Return of Art Folios (Mrs Cowie)
If you sat National 5 or Higher Art and Design last session and you would like your folios returned from the SQA can you, please see Mrs Cowie in the Art Department by Friday 12th Sept.
The cost for the return of the folios is £3.91 payable at the office.
Folios will be returned some time after the October break.

Quadcopter Club (Miss Barclay)
We will have one meeting before the Build and Fly stage to get familiar with the CAA Regulations. Please attend B4 after school either on Monday 1st September or Wednesday 3rd September 3:30pm-4pm. Congratulations on your first round success!

Lower string lessons – cello/double bass and bass guitar. (Mrs Simpson)
As of this week, lessons are moving from a Tuesday to a Thursday and will take placed in E11 – just along from Mrs Duckett’s room. String group will also start on this day after school in the Music Dept. Check the board or Teams for your lesson time and start practising!

Japanese Club Meeting (Mrs Morris)
All existing club members and any pupils interested in learning Japanese, writing to Japanese pupils, learning about Japanese Culture and customs please come along to C9 on Thursday 28th August at lunch time (bring your lunch, or join us after lunch). You MUST come and see Mrs Morris in C9 for a pass on Mon/Tues/Wed if you plan to come to this meeting.

Culture Month (Mrs Gibb)
Continuing our celebration of the different cultures and languages within out school, for the month of August we are focussing on…China!

Classics Film Club (Mrs Brown)
Classics Film Club will be on Tuesday lunchtimes this session. This, Oscar winning, classic is available for all pupils age 15+ to watch, in C11! See me in advance for a pass. Bring your lunch to C11 asap after the bell.

Fitzgerald Trust Award 2025/26 (School Office)
Applications are now open to all S5 and S6 pupils, with the exception those who live outwith Kirkcaldy. The application should be completed by Friday 5th September 2025 by completing either the link or QR code below. Further information regarding the trust along with the links has been emailed to parents on 30th June 2025.

Definition: Something described as convoluted is very complicated and difficult to understand, or has many curves and turns.

Example: The speaker’s argument was so convoluted that most of the audience had trouble determining whether they were for or against the new policy.

KHS Radio Show on K107FM (Dr Murray) 📻
We present a weekly show on Kirkcaldy’s radio station, K107FM every Wednesday. You could be involved. We meet every Wednesday in A4 (Dr Murray’s room in Science) to plan the show. Come along and bring your lunch! See Dr M for a lunch/building pass.

S2 Code Club (Mr Turnbull)
Calling all likeminded S2 with an interest in coding. Meet in D6 every Wed. Bring your lunch. See Mr Turnbull in D6 for a pass.

The Treblemakers Choir (Mr Wilkie)
Do you love singing? Do you love performing? Warmup your vocal cords as ‘The Treblemakers Choir’ is just for you. Come and join Mrs Simpson and Mr Wilkie in the Music department on Wednesday’s afterschool in room E13. All are welcome.
