Respect for Self, Others, and Learning

98. Blue Bulletin – Friday 16/04/21

FRIDAY 16 APRIL

Hot Meal: Vegetable soup, Breaded fish/salmon fish fingers, chips and peas or beans.

Dinner Hall (D Allan)
With the evidence clear that outside spaces are a far safer environment in terms of virus transmission, we have taken the decision to clear the dining hall at 1:25pm daily from Monday. Only Prefects will be allowed in this area after that time and they will support senior staff to usher all others out at 1:25pm. This will be adequate time to allow lunch to be served and consumed. Young people can socialise outdoors (without masks should they wish) after that time, avoiding any prolonged indoor contact. In wet weather we will make other arrangements. Thanks for all your ongoing help with all the safety measures we need to take.

Masks (J Davidson)
A reminder that masks should be worn in the Dinner Hall unless you are eating. This still applies even if you have been vaccinated.

Packed Lunches – Assembly Hall (J Davidson)
Where possible please sit outside and enjoy the sunshine and fresh air if you bring a packed lunch. The Assembly Hall is available but please note it will be reduced capacity (3 to a table) and windows will be open.

S5 Prefect Applications (J Davidson)
Anyone interested in applying to be a prefect next year should apply TODAY please. Link is on Teams too. Click here for the link.

Ramadan 2021 (KHS Equalities Group)
Ramadan Kareem KHS! We would like to support everyone observing Ramadan this year. We realise Ramadan can be a difficult yet reflective time for Muslims so we would like to offer you a little bit of a sanctuary using Ms Mahr’s room in the first instance! If you need some quiet time for reflection or just need some time away from the food in the dinner hall, please head up to C12 during lunch and break for the duration of Ramadan and Ms Mahr will help you out! You are more than welcome to bring friends who are not fasting as well.

If any pupils feel as though they would like to pray starting from Thursday 15 April there will be a room available. The room is located next to Mr Allan’s office, where the operations room is. If you walk into there and instead of walking straight you turn to your second right, there is a small room where a prayer mat will be laid out and there is a sink to do wudhu as well. There will also be tasbih’s and Surah Yaseen available too. If anyone can’t find the room or has any questions, please ask Ramiza (S5) or Alisha (S2), thanks!
