We are delighted to be Fife’s first “GOLD” accredited UNICEF Rights Respecting secondary school. Please see the Report from UNICEF.
Equality and Diversity has been a major theme at KHS since the forming of our LGBT+ group in the mid 2010s. Since then, an Equalities Group has also been formed and the two now work together on ensuring everyone at Kirkcaldy High is treated with the dignity and respect they have a right to. Some highlights of our activites over the years have been.
- A visit from Stonewall Ambassador Ian McKellen in 2017
- Winning the COSLA “Presidents’ Award” in 2018
- Becoming a UNICEF “Gold Rights Respecting School” in 2019
- Being awarded LGBT Youth Scotland “Gold Charter Status” in 2020
- Working with parter organisations (see below) to deliver LGBT+ and Eqaulity training and workshops
- Working with other equality groups in schools around Fife and Scotland
- Having loads of fun!
