France Trip 2026 (Miss Coggill)

Remembrance Day 2024 (Mrs Harrower)
The House Captains will be coming around classes, giving you the opportunity to donate money for a Poppy. There is no minimum donation and all money raised, will go directly to Poppy Scotland. Poppy Scotland help current members and veterans of the armed forces.
My World of Work Ambassadors S5/6 (Miss Akers)
This additional role will include spreading the word about MyWoW and the resources available to other pupils, parents and teachers. The ambassador programme is a great opportunity to build your CV and develop transferable skills. Please see Miss Akers or Mrs Davidson if you would like to be a My World of Work Ambassador.
S1 Football (Mr Geissler)
No S1 football training after school today. Training will resume as normal next Monday.

Matilda Auditions (Ms Bruce)
If you still want to audition for a part in the school musical, you must see Mr Wilkie for an audition piece asap. Auditions for the main speaking roles will take place afterschool on Wednesday (6th November) at 3.25pm. Those wanting to do a backstage role or be part of the ensemble do not need to audition, but should give their name to Ms Bruce/Mr Wilkie.
DYW Ambassadors (Mr. McCowan)

Are you interested in a career in business or leadership? Would you like to help connect KHS with companies, businesses and colleges/universities? Then you should become a DYW Ambassador!
Mr. McCowan is looking for some senior pupils to help with a range of activities in the school, including:
Running the Careers Fair, a Jobs Fair, and business outreach events
Maintaining a noticeboard with info on apprenticeships, jobs, and university open days
Helping with employer visits to KHS
Promoting KHS to the wider community
If this is of interest then please attend a meeting in C4 on Monday at break time.
Right of the Fortnight: Article 38 Protection in War (Miss Young)
As remembrance day approaches and we reflect on the sacrifices made by our armed forces across the world we will also think about many of the young people that have been affected by war across the world. For example, as the Israel Palestine conflict continues the number of young people effected continues to rise. Currently over 12,000 children have lost their lives since October 2023 as a result of this.
Kirkcaldy Youth Forum!
Kirkcaldy is starting a Youth Forum! A Youth Forum is a group led by young people to voice what changes they would like to make within their community. Come along to our event and discuss your community with other young people, have a voice in decision making and also have some fun!
Trust us…it’s very demure…very mindful! Come along to the first meeting on Tuesday 5th November (5:30pm) at Kirkcaldy Townhouse P.S. Food will be included…

Mental Health Ambassadors (Miss Johnston)
Mental Health Ambassadors meeting in B15 at Lunchtime.
Rights Respecting Schools Group and Ambassadors (Miss Young)
Can all existing members and anyone keen to join come along to B14 and anyone who expressed interest in being an ambassador. The meeting will be about new projects coming up this year as well as discussing membership, badges and choice of meeting days. (feel free to bring lunch).
Calm Colouring Club (Ms Geddes)
If you are looking for a quiet space to enjoy your lunch and do a bit of colouring, then head along to A3 from 1:10pm every Monday lunchtime.
S1-S6 Badminton (Mr Harrower)
S1-S6 Badminton in the Games Hall on a Monday from 3:30-4:15.
S1-S6 Basketball (Mr Stewart)
Basketball for all year groups will be running on a Monday from 3.30pm to 4.30pm.
Japanese Club (Mrs Morris)
Japanese club will return on a Monday lunch time in C9 with Mrs Morris. Come along with your lunch and learn about the Japanese culture and language.
U15 Boys Football (Mr Mooney)
U15 Football will run on Mondays after school. All welcome.
Fitness Suite Mondays (Mrs Steedman)
Every Monday lunch time the fitness Suite will be open to all pupils S1-S6. Grab a quick lunch and come down to use the equipment, you can do whatever workout you like, some cardio or some weights, entirely up to you!

LGBT+ Group (Dr Murray) 🏳️⚧️
The LGBT+ Group meets on Tuesday lunchtime in A4 (Dr Murray’s room in Science). It is a social space open to EVERYONE whether you are Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, any other identity, or an ally of the community. See Dr Murray for a pass if you want to come. Bring your lunch!
Creative Well-being Club (PSO Team)
There is a new opportunity open to pupils to join the Creative Well-being Club. The group will be creating and designing a new school poster to showcase the well-being indicators and what they are. This will run on Tuesday lunchtimes in the Inclusion Hub. There will be a house point incentive for participating.
Enterprising Maths Club (Mr Jones & Ms Barclay)
Are you a maths whiz looking for a club where you can really challenge yourself? Join our Enterprising Maths Club and tackle mind-bending problems with other students. There’s even a chance to represent the school in maths competitions, so get involved! Come to B4 every Tuesday lunchtime.
School Netball (Miss Johnston & Mrs Poynter)
School netball is for all age groups, where you will have the opportunity to train on a weekly basis and compete in competitive matches against other schools. All school netball is FREE and there are no match fees. S1/S2 will train on Tuesday night 3:30 – 4:15pm
S1-S6 Dance Club (Miss Johnston & Mrs Poynter)
Dance Club will be running for all S1 to S6 after school on Tuesdays at 3.25pm
S1-3 Study Club (Dr Black)
If you need a place to complete your homework or get some extra practice in come along to D10 on Tuesday lunchtimes (1:15-1:45)
Chemistry Study Support (Chemistry Teachers)
If you need help with any aspect of Chemistry or S1-S2 science, at any level then Chemistry Study Support is the place to get it. One of your happy, smiling chemistry teachers will be available Tuesday 3.30pm-4.30pm in either of A4, A5, or A6 for all your questions, queries and conundrums. You could also simply use this as a quiet place to study, or even get that homework task completed that you’ve been putting off since the dawn of time. All welcome!
