Around 45 S1-3 Kirkcaldy high School pupils had the chance to attend the recent League Cup Semi-final between Manchester City and Newcastle united. Leaving at around midday the group survived on sweets, a service station stop and team quizzes during he near 5-hour journey to the Etihad Stadium, Manchester.
Upon arrival the group were able to watch the players arrive, be interviewed to find out their score predictions, grab food before the match and spend fortunes in the club shop!
The game itself finished 3-1 to Manchester City with the only downside being that all 4 goals were scored at the opposite of the stadium from our seats! Other highlights included seeing Premier league top scorer Erling Haaland & Balon Dor winner Rodri up close during their warm-up, before they were substituted on.
Mr I’Anson and the accompanying staff all agreed that the group were a credit to themselves, and the school, and a great time was had by all, even though they never made it back home until after 3.30am!
Some very tired faces from adults and pupils alike in school the next morning but well worth it!
