Springboard recently visited our school and took over the Home Economics department for an exciting and inspiring day with our S3 practical cookery pupils. They were joined by five local employers from the hospitality industry, who delivered a range of hands-on workshops designed to give pupils real insight into the world of hospitality.

The workshops included a burger-making masterclass, mocktail lessons, and a bakery session where pupils made apple crumble. Pupils also took part in a quiz on exotic fruits and vegetables, as well as a masterclass in table service and professional plate carrying.

The day was a huge success, with pupils thoroughly engaged throughout. It provided them with a valuable opportunity to develop practical skills and gain first-hand experience of the wide variety of roles available within the hospitality industry.
