Our S3-S3 pupils had an amazing time at the masterclass led by Katherine Spencer and Sam Hayward! It was such an inspiring time learning how to listen to live music as a ‘dreamer’, a ‘realist’, and a ‘critic’.

Hearing the world‑renowned clarinettist Katherine Spencer in person was a real treat, and although only one pupil was able to attend last night’s Kirkcaldy Music Society concert, it was incredibly generous of KMS to offer tickets free of charge. What an amazing gesture and such a brilliant opportunity to connect with the wider musical community!

We were also so proud of two of our pupils who performed during the masterclass – Josie and Caitlin. They showed an incredible amount of resilience and truly inspired everyone in the room — a wonderful reminder of the talent and determination within our school.

We are so lucky to have had exposure to experts of this calibre, and the excitement and energy it has sparked in our young musicians will stay with them for a long time. Thanks again for helping make this possible — it’s experiences like these that remind us how vibrant and joyful our musical journey really is.
