Farewell message (Mrs Dempsey)
Just a message to let you all know I will be leaving Kirkcaldy High School this Friday (12th) to start a new job at Woodmill High School. I will miss working with you all. Keep working hard!!! 

Career Ready Scotland Internships (Mr McCowan)
Career Ready Scotland is a social-mobility organisation that arranges 1-2-1 mentoring for pupils with an industry expert, as well as careers masterclasses and a 4-week paid internship in the summer of 2026. To apply, pupils need to be planning to stay until the end of S6 and be able to commit to working the full month of the internship. The deadline for applications is Wednesday September 24th. Interested pupils should see Mr. McCowan in C4 for help with their applications.

Brass lessons (Mrs Simpson)
Brass lessons start back on Monday (15th) with Mr Dowall in E11 (Music dept) . Please check Teams for a lesson slot or look at the timetable outside E11. If you are in S1 and received lessons in Primary, please ask a music teacher for info and we will allocate you a time.

S1 & S2 Schools of Rugby (Mr Harrower)
If you are interested in being involved in a ‘School of Rugby’ programme, please attend a meeting on Monday at 1:25 in the Boys Gym.  Information has already been sent home to your parents / carers.

S5-S6 Winter Formal Dance
Tickets are now on sale for the Senior Winter Formal. Any pupils wishing to attend, please come to D9 where tickets are on sale for £5!! Come along to collect yours.

KHS Christmas Fayre (Events team)
We are excited to announce the Kirkcaldy high school Christmas Fayre and Concert, taking place on the 16th December 2025 at KHS. We all can wait to see you there and may you have a joyful Christmas. Any inquiries, see Mr. Caldwell.

S3 Quadcopter (Miss Barclay)
Can all quadcopter entrants please see Miss Barclay in B4 for permission slips for round 2. The venue has changed.

School Show (Mr Wilkie)
All pupils who would like to participate in the next school show please come to Drama on Tuesday 16th September at 3:30 till 4:30’. This is open to pupil from S1 – S6. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring water. If you cannot attend please speak to Ms Bruce or Mr Wilkie.

Theatre Workshops (Ms Bruce)
Scottish Community Drama (SCDA), are running Theatre Workshops, based at Dunfermline High School (Community Use) on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th September. The workshops run from 10-4pm each day, are open to 10-18 year olds. Each workshop will be led by professional practitioners and you can choose from: Sound and Lighting; Drama & Movement; Song Lyrics and Singing. Culture Month (Mrs Gibb)
Continuing our celebration of the different cultures and languages within our school, we say goodbye to August and to China, and “Hiya” or “Ciao” to September and to …Italy!

When greeting staff and each other, instead of saying “Hiya”, please say Ciao. The link to hear it pronounced is:  click here to hear it

Uncanny

Definition: Uncanny is typically used to describe something that is strange or unusual in a way that is surprising or difficult to understand. It can also describe something
that seems to have a  supernatural character or origin.
Example: The child has an uncanny ability to recognize streets and locations she’s seen only once or twice before.

S2 Code Club (Mr Turnbull)
Calling all likeminded S2 with an interest in coding. Meet in D6 every Mon. Bring your lunch. See Mr Turnbull in D6 for a pass.

Badminton Club (Mr Harrower)
Badminton Club will begin on Monday 8th September afterschool for all pupils in S1-S6 in the Games Hall. All pupils are welcome.

English Second Language Club (Ms Solowczuk)
This will run on Monday lunchtime in A10
