THURSDAY 21 AUGUST

Hot Meal: Soup of the day, Roast Chicken in Gravy with Yorkshire Pudding and Oven Roasted Herby Diced Potatoes, Roast Quorn Fillet in Gravy with Herby Diced Potatoes, Fish Fingers or Scottish Breaded Haddock served with Chips. Chicken Fries at breaktime.

House Captains (Miss Young)
All House Captains must attend a meeting today at lunch – please see the teams page for time and location.

Quadcopter Challenge (Miss Barclay)
The Quadcopter team members should visit B4 (Miss Barclay’s room) today during lunchtime to receive the outcome of their quadcopter submissions.

S2 School of Dance (Mrs Johnston)
Can all S2 pupils who are interested in being in the S2 School of Dance please come to a meeting at break time on Friday or alternatively come and see Miss Johnston or Mrs Poynter to let them know.

Rights Ambassadors and House Captains (Miss Young)
Thank to everyone in S1 and S6 who signed up to be House Captain or Rights Respecting Schools Ambassadors.
House Captains for S6 have now been chosen – they will be contacting and S1 who signed up for this at some point this week or next and will also be looking to recruit S3 House Captains.
Rights Ambassadors – out currently pupil group also plan to contact the S1 and S6 pupils next week who signed up for this so look out for bulletin messages or updates in the year group team.

If you want to be a House Captain (s1 or S3 ) or Rights Respecting Schools Ambassador but have not yet signed up please see Miss Young in B14 before the end of the week.

Music Instrumental lessons (Mrs Simpson)
All music lessons will resume as normal with the exception of Brass; we will let you know as soon as these are starting again.Monday – Woodwind + wind band after school

Wednesday – Guitar lessons * THESE ARE ON TODAY! Please check the board in music or in files on Teams.
Thursday – Piano
Upper string + string group after school.

If you are in S1 and received music lessons on an instrument in Primary, please let your music teacher know or your tutor will come and find you to meet you. For the first week or so, don’t worry about attending lessons just get settled into classes.

Fitzgerald Trust Award 2025/26 (School Office)
Applications are now open to all S5 and S6 pupils, with the exception those who live outwith Kirkcaldy. The application should be completed by Friday 5th September 2025 by completing either the link or QR code below. Further information regarding the trust along with the links has been emailed to parents on 30th June 2025.

Word of the Week (Mrs MacKenzie)

  Bogus

Definition – Bogus is an informal word used to describe something that is not real or genuine, making it a synonym of such words as fake, false, and counterfeit.

Example – We were disappointed to find out that the purses we bought were bogus.
