TUESDAY 1 APRIL

Hot Meal: Soup of the day, Traditional Macaroni Cheese with Garlic Bread or Teriyaki Roasted Vegetables with Egg Noodles and Garlic Bread.

Dress Down Day on Friday! (Dr Murray)
As per, Friday is a Dress Down Day. The usual rules regarding no sports colours, and no inappropriate clothing apply – keep it school-sensible. The money is going to the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) for the victims of the Myanmar earthquake. Please give generously.

School Leavers 2025 (Mrs Ross)
If you have a locker with us and are leaving school this year, please make sure to hand in your keys before you go.

Lost Property (Mrs Spence)
Please remember that we will be donating all items in our lost property box to charity over the Easter Holidays. This week is your last chance to claim anything you may have lost in school.

S5 – Silver Duke of Edinburgh (Miss Wallace)
Reminder there is a brief meeting at break today in B10 today for those interested in the Silver DofE award in S6. Speak with Ms Wallace if unable to attend or have any questions.

FA Childcare/Healthcare (Mrs Hamilton)
If you are in S4 or S5 and you have chosen the FA in either childcare or Social Services and Healthcare as one of your subject choices for next session, please attend a meeting in the main staffroom at 12:15pm on Thursday 4 April.

Eid Party (Dr Murray/Miss Collins/Miss Akers)
The KHS annual Eid party will be on Thursday (3rd April) at 1:05pm in A11 (big Home Ec. Room). All (pupils and staff) are welcome. There will be fabulous food, a photo booth, and lots of fun to be had. First come first served! عِيد مُبَارَك‎ Eid Mubarak!

Instruments (Mrs Duckett)
Please could all instruments be collected from Instrument Drop Off by the end of the week. No instruments should be left in there over the Easter holidays.

S1-S2 Quadcopter Challenge (Miss Barclay)
The Quadcopter Challenge is a STEM-based engineering challenge for S1 and S2 students across the country to build an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV). Teams will review a standard Quadcopter model with the challenge to design changes to the Quadcopter in line with this year’s theme. Teams are encouraged to think creatively to improve the Quadcopter and analyse any key issues. Each team is guided through the challenge as they develop critical skills in: Engineering / Design, Team Working, Project Management, Presentation Skills / Public Speaking, and Budgeting. A ‘Quadcopter Club’ will run weekly, for 2 hours after school, and the team will have 4-5 students. A teacher with a technical background will support you. Register your interest with Miss Barclay in the Maths department before Thursday 3 April to be part of the team.

Freedom of Thought and Religion – Fact – Christianity is the largest religion in the world with 2.4 billion followers. The second largest is Islam with 1.9 billion.

Article 27: Healthy Food – Free Food (Mrs Young)
Free Food: We are trying to reduce food waste therefore can you please come along to D2 at the end of each day to make use of the free food that is available. This will include food that has been cooked in home economics as well as fresh food that needs to be used up. This will be available every day on a first come first served basis and will help make sure food does not get binned which is good for us and the environment! There is usually even more excess on a Friday so get down ASAP! Thanks, Rights Respecting Schools Group

LGBT+ Group (Dr Murray) 🏳️‍⚧️
The LGBT+ Group meets on Tuesday lunchtime in A4 (Dr Murray’s room in Science). It is a social space open to EVERYONE whether you are Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, any other identity, or an ally of the community. See Dr Murray for a pass if you want to come. Bring your lunch!

Enterprising Maths Club (Mr Jones & Ms Barclay)
Are you a maths whiz looking for a club where you can really challenge yourself? Join our Enterprising Maths Club and tackle mind-bending problems with other students. There’s even a chance to represent the school in maths competitions, so get involved! Come to B4 every Tuesday lunchtime.

Glee Choir (Mr Wilkie)
Glee Choir will run in the Music Department on Tuesday & Wednesday lunchtime in E12..

S1-S2 Netball (Miss Johnston & Mrs Poynter)
S1-S2 will train on Tuesday night, 3:30-4:15pm.

S3 & Senior Netball (Mrs Steedman)
Netball training will now be on a Tuesday after school. Any one welcome to come along!

S1-S6 Dance Club (Miss Johnston & Mrs Poynter)
Dance Club will be running for all S1-S6 after school on Tuesdays at 3:25pm.

Extra-Curricular Rugby (Mr Harrower)
After school rugby is on today for all pupils in S1-S6. Come down to the PE department straight after school.

Chemistry Study Support (Chemistry Teachers)
If you need help with any aspect of Chemistry or S1-S2 Science, at any level then Chemistry Study Support is the place to get it. One of your happy, smiling chemistry teachers will be available Tuesday 3:30-4:30pm in either of A4, A5, or A6 for all your questions, queries and conundrums. You could also simply use this as a quiet place to study, or even get that homework task completed that you’ve been putting off since the dawn of time. All welcome!

KHS Radio Show on K107FM (Dr Murray) 📻
We present a weekly show on Kirkcaldy’s radio station, K107FM every Wednesday. You could be involved. We meet every Wednesday in A4 (Dr Murray’s room in Science) to plan the show. Come along and bring your lunch! See Dr M for a lunch/building pass.

Anime and Manga Club (Ms Kelsey)
Anime and Manga club will be on a Wednesday lunchtime in B29.

The Yearbook and Prom Committee will meet from 3:25pm each Wednesday in D9.
