Hot Meal: Christmas Lunch
Christmas Lunch – Wednesday 11 December (Mrs Taylor)
Starters: Soup or Fanned melon with berry coulis or Haggis ball with chilli sauce.
Main: Turkey with trimmings and veg or Steak pie and veg or Roasted cauliflower and veg.
Dessert: Christmas trifle, Strawberry/vanilla ice cream with chocolate treat or Chocolate/vanilla ice cream with Chocolate treat.
Christmas Jumper (Mr McKay)
With Christmas fast approaching, and KHS feeling festive, we invite all young people, staff and community to wear something festive on Friday 13 December. You are encouraged to wear a Christmas Jumper and/or accessory. Please note, that school uniform is still expected and the festive jumper / accessory can be placed over this.
Christmas Memorial Baubles (Pamela, PSO)
If you would like to have a personalised bauble in memory of a loved one, please see Pamela (PSO). You can hang it on the school’s memorial tree at reception before taking it home to hang on your own tree. Any baubles left on the tree will be hung each year.
Senior Netball (Mrs Little)
A reminder to all senior players who are playing in Friday’s netball tournament, please collect a dress from Mrs Little on Thursday at lunch. You must be at school by 8:30am on Friday. Nails must be short and all jewellery removed (you are not allowed to tape over).
S2 Football (Mr Pennel)
All footballers who would like to play in an upcoming game, please attend a meeting at break in the PE department today.
String Quarter Masterclass (Mrs Simpson)
All music pupils who are taking part in the String Quartet Masterclass today, please remember to go to the assembly hall at the start of period 6.
S1-3 Study Support (Dr Black)
Have you been really wanting to complete homework, but never got around to it? Do you want to spend just a wee bit of time trying to understand that thing you haven’t quite got your head around? If the answer to either of these questions is even close to “yes”, then the S1-3 Study Club is for you. You will have a teacher on-hand for all the expert tips, and advice you could ever need. The place is D10 Tuesday lunch time, or C8 Wednesday after school. All subjects welcome!
Xmas Concert Musicians (Mrs Simpson)
Below is the rehearsal schedule for Monday 16 December. Please come to the hall at the start of the period at your allocated slot. You must have all music and instruments with you on Monday and Tuesday.
Please remember to bring a packed lunch on Tuesday as musicians will have an early lunch during period 5 in the music dept. Afternoon performance starts at 1:30pm in the Hall for Primary schools.
Period 1 – Period 2 – Wind Band, Clarinet/Flute Groups, Brass Solos
Period 3 – Period 5 – String Group and Trio, Guitar Group, Instrumental Solos and Eve
Period 6 – Period 7 – Glee Choir and Vocal soloists

KHS Radio Show on K107FM (Dr Murray) 📻
We present a weekly show on Kirkcaldy’s radio station, K107FM every Wednesday. You could be involved. We meet every Wednesday in A4 (Dr Murray’s room in Science) to plan the show. Come along and bring your lunch! See Dr M for a lunch/building pass.
Anime and Manga Club (Ms Kelsey)
Anime and Manga club will be on a Wednesday lunchtime in B29.

KHS Glee Club (Mr Wilkie)
KHS Glee Club with Mrs Duckett and Mr Wilkie runs Wednesday after school, 3:30– 4:30pm in E12. No auditions, anyone who is interested in trying out singing in a show choir is welcome! Please see Mr Wilkie for more information.

Chess Club (Dr Black)
Chess club runs Thursday lunchtimes in A6, 1:10-1:40pm. Beginners to Grand master’s welcome. Collect a lunchtime pass from Dr Black if you would like to come along.
Together We Can Group (Miss Johnston)
Together We Can group is on after school, Thursdays in the PE department from 3:30-4:15pm.
Equality Group (Dr Murray)
The KHS Equality Group meets every Thursday lunchtime in A4. Anyone who is interested in any aspect of equality is welcome whether it be age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation.
