Kirkcaldy High School

Respect for Self, Others, and Learning

Duke of Edinburgh Success in Skills this term!

As part of the wider achievements offered at Kirkcaldy High, our cohort of S3 Duke of Edinburgh participants have continued to engage, with fantastic effort, towards achieving their award with the following some examples of what they have been up to so far this term for their Skill sections:

Skill – While dedicating at least one hour each week to developing their practical and social skills while nurturing an interest they enjoy, our learners have become chefs and bakers in the kitchen from making chili chicken with roast potatoes and broccoli, salmon with veg and homemade pizzas to cupcakes and brownies. While others are building their confidence around animal welfare, make-up artistry, musical performances, learning new languages and even improving their darts tally!

‘This goes towards my goal because I learned a new skill and I am feeling more confident with animals when they’re hurt.’

‘I have started a new music piece called “God Rest Ye Merry, Gentleman”. It is a easy piece but it has me thinking about where my fingers will go after each note’
