Maths – Calculator Orders (Mr Cromb)
The supplier that we use for calculators is currently out of stock, and has been for a while. We have been advised that they should receive another delivery by the end of September. If you’ve already paid for a calculator you can either wait a few more weeks, or you can let me know if you would prefer to have your money refunded. Apologies for the delay, this was entirely unexpected.
S1 & 2 Girls Football (Mrs Steedman)
Can any S1 and S2 girls interested in playing for the school football team this year please attend a meeting in the girls gym (PE department) at break time today.
Right’s Respecting Schools Group – Day Change (Miss Young)
Just a reminder that the day for Rights has changed to a Monday – any issues let Miss Young know and anyone who signed up to be an ambassador for Rights but did not attend the meeting this week needs to come along next Monday if they still wish to be involved.
Lost property in PE (Mr Stewart)
Already, we have a huge amount of clothing left in PE. We have school uniform, PE kit and school bags. If you have left anything in the PE changing rooms over the first week back, please come down and ask one of the PE staff to check our lost property.
Basketball Club (Mr Stewart)
The Basketball club will start on Monday (2nd September) after school in the PE department and will run from 3.30pm to 4.30pm. This club is open to all pupils and all experience levels. We will develop your skills as well as playing games. You must bring a full change of kit to take part in the club.
YASS Open University Courses (S6) (Mrs Hamilton)
For those of you who have registered to do a YASS course this year, I have sent an email to your GLOW email with information about an induction course that you need to complete prior to starting your actual course, Please start to work through this course in your allocated YASS time. If you have any issues, please let me know.
S4-S6 Royal Navy Careers (Mr. McCowan)
On Monday September 2nd during Period 5 (1215-1305) members of the Royal Navy Outreach Team will be in the IT Hub to give a talk about the opportunities available as Ratings and Officers in the Royal Navy. This is a fantastic opportunity to speak with serving members of the Armed Forces about the varied and rewarding opportunities on offer after secondary school.

S3 Royal Navy Outreach (Mr. McCowan)
On Monday September 2nd the Royal Navy will be visiting KHS to do activities with S3 Maths classes in the IT Hub. However, these may not be at the times you are scheduled to be in Maths class.
MVP Training (Mrs Dempsey)

S5/S6 EMA Applications 2024/25 (Mrs Cook)
EMA Applications Forms can now only be accessed and completed online at www.fife.gov.uk/ema If successful an EMA Learning Agreement will be posted out to your home address. Please complete form and return to Mrs Cook in the school office.
If you have applied and been approved for EMA, please bring your completed Learning Agreement to the school office. We cannot proceed with any payments until this has been done. If you have still to apply, please do this as soon as you can. Any applications received by Fife Council after the 4th October 2024 cannot be backdated and you will only be paid from the date the application is received. Please remember you also need to make a new application each academic year.
Fife Council, Fitzgerald Trust Scheme – 2024/2025, School Pupils (Mrs McNab)
Applications are invited from SCHOOL PUPILS for awards from the funds of the above Trust Scheme in respect of the academic year 2024/2025 (see information below for school leavers). Awards are available to assist pupils in continuing their education at school in fifth and sixth years. Applicants must be attending a secondary school in Kirkcaldy and must be resident within the former Burgh of Kirkcaldy at the time the award is made. Reminder that all S6 Leavers Hoodies must be ordered & paid in full before Friday 13th September. Please see Miss Lipton for sizing – these cannot be returned so what you order you get. Payments to be made via iPayimpact or cash at the office – total cost is £21.

The school nurse drop in service runs in Meeting Room 1 every Friday at break time. You can see them for all issues health related. No appointment necessary

Rights Respecting Schools Group and Ambassadors (Miss Young)
Can all existing members and anyone keen to join come along and anyone who expressed interest in being an ambassador. The meeting will be about new projects coming up this year as well as discussing membership, badges and choice of meeting days. (feel free to bring lunch).
Calm Colouring Club (Ms Geddes)
If you are looking for a quiet space to enjoy your lunch and do a bit of colouring, then head along to A3 from 1:10pm every Thursday lunchtime.
S1-S6 Badminton (Mr Harrower)
