WEDNESDAY 05 JUNE

Hot Meal: Soup of the day, Roast chicken or roast Quorn fillet in gravy with Yorkshire pudding and mash potato.

Year Group Assemblies (Mr Young)
Year Group Assemblies will take place today at the following times:

S2 – Period 2
S3 – Period 3
S4 – Period 4

Please register your class and then bring them to the Assembly Hall.

Road Safety (Mr McKay)
Young people are reminded that they should take care crossing roads, especially Dunnikier Way. Please use the crossings provided. Please also make use of the crossing officer at the beginning of the day, break, lunch and end of school day. Young people should not attempt to cross at other points and should always remain vigilant. This message will be re-enforced through assemblies and SE in the coming weeks.

It is also important that young people attend all timetabled classes, sign-out as appropriate and follow all expectations. Again, these will be re-enforced through assemblies and your class teachers.

Problems with your timetable (Mrs Hamilton)
If you have any issues with your new timetable, please come to see Mrs Hamilton at the time of day when the issue appears on your timetable.

Career Ready (Mrs Davidson)
Can the Career Ready pupils please come to Mrs Davidson’s office at tutor on Wednesday. Please register first.

S6 Meetings (Mrs Davidson)
PLT – Breakfast meeting on Thursday, 8.20am in the Staffroom.
S6 – Meeting on Friday at tutor in the Dinnerhall. Please register first then come down promptly.

All New S2-4 Pupils (Ms Crawford)
Can all new S2, S3 & S4 pupils (in these year groups after summer) please scan the QR code below and complete the short MS form. This is to gather information on which sports club’s pupils attend in the community if any at all, if you can swim and if you can ride a bike. Please complete even if you don’t attend any sports clubs.

Sports Day (Miss Kirkwood)
Sports day has been re-scheduled for Friday 14 June period 6 & 7. If you are competing please come to P.E at 1.30pm to get changed and registered. Parents/carers are welcome to spectate.

School College Partnership (Mr Fulton)
Can all pupils who will be studying a course at college this year as part of your school timetable please carefully read through the details on the Sway using the attached QR code.

Edinburgh Pride – Saturday 22 June (Dr Murray) 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️
There is an opportunity to go to Edinburgh Pride this year. We will take part in the march, as well as explore the stalls, and Youth Zone. EVERYONE is welcome at a Pride, whether you identify as LGBT+, or not. See Dr M in A4 if you’re interested!

S6 Army Leadership Roadshow (Mr McCowan)
The Army Leadership Roadshow is coming to Dundee on 18 June. This is an exclusive opportunity to develop leadership skills in your S6 students
Delivered by high quality Army graduates from the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst and officer cadets from Scottish University Officer Training Corps this one day leadership package from 10am to 4pm will include a programme of activities including:

  • ‘voice of experience’ presentations
  • group discussion – qualities of a leader/challenges of leadership/values-based leadership
  • practical leadership tasks
  • student-led reflection

Particularly suitable for students aspiring to progress to University! If you are interested then please come and speak to Mr McCowan in C4 before the end of this week.

Rights Respecting Schools Group & Ambassadors (Ms Young)
Remember we will be meeting today to work on all the exciting ideas you have come up with, B14 at 1:15pm – come and collect a pass if you don’t already have one.

Flute Group (Mrs Clark)
Flute Group will be on every Wednesday lunchtime in the Music Department.

Equality Group (Dr Murray)
The KHS Equality Group meets every Wednesday lunchtime in A4. Anyone who is interested in any aspect of equality is welcome whether it be age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation. See Dr Murray for a pass. Bring you lunch!

Calm Colouring Club (Ms Geddes & Miss Millar)
If you are looking for a quiet space to enjoy your lunch and do a bit of colouring, then head along to A3 from 1:10pm every Thursday lunchtime. Ms Geddes, Miss Millar and the Mental Health Ambassadors will be there to welcome you.

Upper Strings Ensemble (Mrs Ranieri)
Upper Strings Ensemble will run today at lunchtime in the Music department.

Gardening Club (Mrs Brown)
If you’d like to help me with growing flowers, that are named after Greek myths, in our school garden then please bring your lunch and meet me at the amphitheatre.
Gardening is a great way to relax and enjoy being outdoors! 🌺 Please see me for a pass.
