WEDNESDAY 27 MARCH

Hot Meal: Soup of the day, Chicken or vegetable korma with rice and naan bread.

Toilets (Mr McKay)
Due to disrepair, the boys toilets at maths and the toilet across from Mrs Hume’s office are not working. Repairs will be carried out throughout the holiday. In the interim, those who access the boys toilets should use the ‘outside’ ones at all times. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

School Till (Mrs Lowson)
The till will only be open until breaktime tomorrow if any pupils want to make payments.

Eid Party (Dr Murray/Miss Collins, Ms Logue)
The KHS annual Eid party will be on Friday (19 April) at 1:00pm in A11 (big Home Ec. Room). All (pupils and staff) are welcome. There will be fabulous food, lantern making, a photo booth and lots of fun to be had. First come first served! عِيد مُبَارَك‎ Eid Mubarak!

Dress Down Day (Dr Murray)
Thursday will be a “Dress Down Day” in aid of Comic Relief – raising money to Support People Facing Poverty In The UK And Around The World. Please pay £1 in “Tutor” or whatever you can afford. No football colours or school-inappropriate clothing.

Madrid Trip 25 (Mr Spink)
If you have handed Mr Spink a slip for Madrid Trip and were not present at the meeting on Thursday, last week, please go and see him as a matter of urgency. Unless, he has already spoken to you.

New S6 House Captain Applications (Miss Lipton)
House Captain applications are now live for the new S6. Link available on the Year Group Team. Applications close Friday 29 March at 3pm. Interviews will be held WB 15 April.

S6 – Yearbook & Prom (Miss Lipton)
Can all S6 ensure they’ve made payment to their Yearbooks & Prom. Prom must be paid in full by Friday 31 May.

Saltire Awards (Miss Lipton)
Can all S4/S5/S6 ensure their Saltire Hours are submitted via the Team. S6 certificates will be issued Thursday 28 March so hours must be submitted to ensure you don’t miss out. If any S4/S5 are planning on leaving school can you let Miss Lipton know asap to sort certificates also.

Ramadan Lunch Room (Mrs Logue)
During the month of Ramadan, Mrs Logue’s room (C12) is available for any pupils to use during break and lunch times to support you in your fast. Ramadan Mubarak!

Fife College Open Days (Mrs Davidson)
Fife College will be hosting Campus Open Days at the end of March 2024. Please see link to our website, which includes a Programme of Events for each Campus – Open Days 2023 (fife.ac.uk).

S5/6 Law Work Experience (Mr McCowan)
There is a fantastic opportunity to do work experience at PRIME in Glasgow or Edinburgh this July (8-12th). These placements are open to S5 and S6 students who meet the PRIME criteria which include:

  • your parents didn’t attend university
  • you attend a low progression school (which I believe KHS is).

Pop along to ask questions, get help with homework or just have a quiet space to study. Every Wednesday lunchtime in B5.

Rights Respecting Schools Group & Ambassadors (Ms Young)
Remember we will be meeting today to work on all the exciting ideas you have come up with, B14 at 1:15pm – come and collect a pass if you don’t already have one.

Guitar Club (Mr Irwin)
Guitar club will run today at lunchtime in the Music department.

Flute Group (Mrs Clark)
Flute Group will be on every Wednesday lunchtime in the Music Department.

Equality Group (Dr Murray)
The KHS Equality Group meets every Wednesday lunchtime in A4. Anyone who is interested in any aspect of equality is welcome whether it be age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation. See Dr Murray for a pass. Bring you lunch!

S1 & Senior Netball (Miss Johnston)
S1 and senior netball will be on after school every Wednesday from 3:15-4:15pm.

Higher Music Study Support (Mr Wilkie)
This will run every Wednesday after school, 3:15-4:15pm.

Piano/Keyboard Lessons (Mr Macdonald)
Lessons are on today in the Music department.

N5 Music Study Support (Mrs Clark)
This will run every Thursday at lunchtime.

Calm Colouring Club (Ms Geddes & Miss Millar)
If you are looking for a quiet space to enjoy your lunch and do a bit of colouring, then head along to A3 from 1:10pm every Thursday lunchtime. Ms Geddes, Miss Millar and the Mental Health Ambassadors will be there to welcome you.

Upper Strings Ensemble (Mrs Ranieri)
Upper Strings Ensemble will run today at lunchtime in the Music department.
