Hot Meal:  Soup of the day, Breaded fish or Salmon fish fingers and chips or Vegetable stir fry with noodles.

S4 and S5 Course Choice (Mr Farquharson)
Any S4 and S5 who has not been coursed yet must see their guidance teacher in the guidance base as soon as possible. Remember that even if you plan to leave, you need to be coursed as back-up.

Badminton and Basketball Clubs (Mr Harrower)
Both clubs are ON this Monday afterschool. The primary Netball event has been moved so we are able to use the games hall.

France Trip February 2024 (Mrs Morris)
Any pupils who were on the recent France trip and still have messages, and stories for the memory book please see Miss Coggill in C7 during lunch or break this week to include them. A massive thanks to each of you, from the teachers on the trip, as you were all amazing and a credit to us, and the school – Merci mille fois! On y va! Miss Coggill, Mr Spink, Mrs Hamilton, Miss Prentice and Mrs Morris.

Battlefields Trip 2024 (Mr Harrower)
All pupils going on the Battlefields trip must attend a meeting at 1:20pm today in B17. Important information will be given out so attendance is essential. Any pupil unable to make the meeting should speak to Mrs Harrower ASAP.

Music Performances (Mrs Duckett)
Mr Wilkie is available at lunchtimes for to go through accompaniments for upcoming music performances and exams. Book in with him in the music dept.

Babcock International Engineering Apprenticeships (Mr McCowan)
Are you interested in working to maintain the Royal Navy’s fleet of warships? Getting paid to study and learn a trade? Babcock International, based at Rosyth are currently advertising for 2 apprenticeships in:

Engineering Trades (Welding/Mechanical & Electrical Fitting/Fabricating/Machining/Pipefitting)

They are hosting a virtual careers fair on Thursday 7 March from 5.30pm until 7pm to discuss all the apprentice opportunities they have available across Scotland.

Scottish Apprenticeship Week Events (Mr McCowan)
Attention S4-S6’s! Looking for an apprenticeship for after your time at KHS? Scottish Apprenticeship Week, run by Skills Development Scotland, will be hosting TWO apprenticeship events in March at:

  • Carnegie Conference Centre, Dunfermline – Tuesday 5th March 2024, 6pm-8pm
  • Auchmuty High School, Glenrothes – Thursday 7th March 2024, 6pm-8pm

These events have lots of information and opportunities for pupils/parents/carers to find out about:

  • Modern Apprenticeships
  • Foundation Apprenticeships
  • Graduate Apprenticeships

KHS Radio Show on K107FM (Dr Murray)
We present a weekly show on Kirkcaldy’s radio station, K107FM every Saturday morning. You could be involved, even if you’re never available on a Saturday! We meet every Friday in A4 (Dr Murray’s room in Science) to plan the show. Come along and bring your lunch! See Dr M for a lunch/building pass.

KHS D&D (Dungeons and Dragons) Group (Dr Murray/Miss Collins)
The KHS D&D Group meets in D2 (Home Ec) every Friday after school. Take part in exciting adventures and storytelling. It’s all up to the fate of the dice!

Chess Club (Dr Black)
Chess club runs Monday lunchtimes in A6, 1:10-1:40pm. Beginners to Grand masters welcome. Collect a lunchtime pass from Dr Black if you would like to come along.

Anime and Manga Club (Miss Kelsey)
Anybody interesting in watching, drawing, and/or reading anime and manga, can now attend the anime and manga club every Monday lunchtime in B29.

Basketball & Badminton Club (Mr Harrower)
Basketball and Badminton clubs will run on Monday afterschool in the Games Hall from 3:15-4:15pm. All pupils in S1-S6 welcome.

S6 Yearbook (Miss Lipton)
The Yearbook Committee will meet Monday’s after school in D9 from 3:15pm.

S4-S6 Study Support for Classical Studies (Mrs Brown)
A reminder this is on 3:15-4:15pm for all N5 pupils and Highers pupils.
