MONDAY 13 NOVEMBER

S4 & S5 Course Choice Assemblies (Mrs Hamilton)
There will be course choice assemblies today at the following times:

S4 – Period 4
S5 – Period 5

You must report to your class at the start of the period and come along with your teacher.

S1 First Chances (Mr Dick)
Can all S1 First Chances pupils attend a meeting at break today in A5 as we have a trip on Wednesday.

Football (Mr Caldwell)
Meeting at break time today in room D10 for information regarding Thursdays League game away to Bell Baxter.

Senior Netball (Miss Kirkwood)
Could everyone involved in Senior Netball please attend an important meeting today at break time in the boys gym. Attendance is essential so if you are unable to make it please see Miss Kirkwood ASAP.

S2/S3 Netball (Mrs Little)
Can all players please collect a medical and consent form from Mrs Steedman today at break in the PE classroom. This must be returned for tomorrow.

U14 Football (Mr Mooney)
U14 Football is on after school tomorrow, there will be a league game next Monday at Bell Baxter.

Languages Club (Mrs Morris)
Starting on Tuesday 14 November we will be running a languages club and each term we will focus on a different language. First we will be learning Japanese. Anyone interested please come along to C9 on Tuesday 14 November with your packed lunch. Club will start at 1:15 pm. If you want to attend and need a pass for the dinner hall, please come and see Mrs Morris before then.

Anti-bullying Week (Miss Johnston)
This week it is anti-bullying week and us as the Mental Health Ambassadors wish to raise awareness to this, because bullying is a common reason affecting teenagers and causing Mental Health difficulties. All bullying should always be called out and torn down, however this week is dedicated to sharing information and minimising the chances of bullying.

Respectme is an organisation perfect for sharing information about anti bullying, which you can visit using the QR code below. Remember, if you yourself feel you are being bullied, confront a trusted adult. Or, if you don’t wish to tell an adult but it’s affecting your mental health, come find one of us, your Mental Health Ambassadors.

Careers Stall (Mrs Davidson)
There will be a stall at the War Memorial on Thursday 16 Nov for Foundation Apprenticeships.

Dress Down Day (Mr Caldwell)
The ‘Travel and Tourism’ Class have organised the Dress Down Day on Friday 17 November is in aid of Children in Need, a charity providing support, advice and awareness for any child in need in Scotland. All students will be asked to pay £1 in “Tutor” or whatever you can afford. As you’d expect – no football colours or inappropriate clothing.

Kirkcaldy Food Drive (Mx Donaldson)
Monday 13th – Friday 17th November. Our S4 Personal development class has arranged a food drive to support the Kirkcaldy Food Bank this Christmas. We are collecting food during the dates above if you are able to please hand in any of the following items to reception:

  • Tea/coffee
  • Rice
  • Pasta and pasta sauce
  • Canned fruit and veg
  • Canned beans and spaghetti
  • Canned desserts
  • Canned meat and fish
  • Cereal
  • Long life milk (UHT)
  • Long life fruit juice

Percussion Lessons (Mr Christie)
Lessons are on today in the Music department.

Chess Club (Dr Black)
Chess club runs Monday lunchtimes in A6, 1:10-1:40pm. Beginners to Grand masters welcome. Collect a lunchtime pass from Dr Black if you would like to come along.

Anime and Manga Club (Miss Kelsey)
Anybody interesting in watching, drawing, and/or reading anime and manga, can now attend the anime and manga club every Monday lunchtime in B29.

Basketball & Badminton Club (Mr Harrower)
Basketball and Badminton clubs will start on Monday afterschool in the games hall from 3:15-4:15pm. All pupils in S1-S6 welcome.

S1&2 Girls Football (Mrs Steedman)
Training will begin on Monday 3:30-4:15pm. Absolutely anyone is welcome! Make sure you bring a change of kit with you!

S6 Yearbook (Miss Lipton)
The Yearbook Committee will meet Monday’s after school in D9 from 3:15pm.

TUESDAY 14 NOVEMBER

Hot Meal: Vegetable soup, Pulled pork or pulled jack fruit with rice and pitta bread.

LGBT+ Group (Dr Murray)
The LGBT+ Group meets on Tuesday lunchtime in A4 (Dr Murray’s room in Science). It is a social space open to EVERYONE whether you are Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, any other identity, or an ally of the community. See Dr Murray for a pass if you want to come. Bring your lunch!

Enterprising Maths Club (Mr Jones)
Are you good at maths? Would you like to represent the school in maths competitions? All S1-S4’s are welcome to come Enterprising Maths Club, every Tuesday lunchtime in C3.

KHS Glee Choir (Mrs Duckett & Mr Wilkie)
KHS Glee Choir with Mrs Duckett and Mr Wilkie begins today after school, 3:15pm – 4:15pm in E10. No auditions, anyone who is interested in trying out singing in a show choir is welcome! Songs from all musicals – Disney, Rock, Juke-Box, Book, Class covered! Please see Mrs Duckett for more information.

S2-S3 Netball (Mrs Little)
Netball will run on a Tuesday in the Games Hall from 3:15-4:15pm. Open to all!

Dance Club (Miss Johnston)
Dance club will be on every Tuesday after school from 3:15-4:15pm. Please head to the PE base after school.

S4-S6 Art & Design and Fashion & Textiles Study Support (Mrs Donaldson)
Runs on Tuesdays, 3:15 – 4:30pm in D15.

Biology Study Support (Miss Irvine)
Biology study support for all levels will take place after school every Tuesday from 3:20 – 4:20pm in A1.
