S1-S2 UEFA Champions League (Mr Greenhorn)
A reminder that our 3rd round of UCL futsal matches will take place today in the main games hall at 1:10-1:40pm. Team managers have been emailer a copy of the fixtures. A printed copy of fixtures is now on display outside the Active Schools Office.

Remembrance Assemblies (Mrs Harrower)
The Remembrance Assemblies take place this week, as follows:

Tutor will be extended to 9.10am on the above dates.

S5/6 Pupils helping with Primary Enterprise Day (Miss Nessel)
Pupils should make their own way to Fair Isle Primary School for 8.45am on Thursday 9 November. You will be briefed on your jobs for the day once you get there. Full uniform expected. Bring your lunch with you. Any issues, or if you can no longer, see Miss Nessel ASAP.

Languages Club (Mrs Morris)
Starting on Tuesday 14 November we will be running a languages club and each term we will focus on a different language. First we will be learning Japanese. Anyone interested please come along to C9 on Tuesday 14 November with your packed lunch. Club will start at 1:15 pm. If you want to attend and need a pass for the dinner hall, please come and see Mrs Morris before then.

Christmas Pantomime Trip 2023 – ‘The Little Mermaid’ (Ms Kelsey or Ms Lamont-Boyce)
Can any S1s who want to go on the pantomime trip on Friday the 15th of December please come and see either Ms Kelsey (B29) or Ms Lamont-Boyce (B20) to receive a permission slip. This trip will take place during the school day between 9:30am and 1pm. Permission slips need to be handed back in by break time on Friday the 10th of November, so please come and get a slip as soon as possible (no later than Thursday the 9th of November).  The trip will work on a first come first served basis, so the sooner you hand in your slip the more likely you will be able to attend the trip.

Kirkcaldy Food Drive (Mx Donaldson)
Monday 13th – Friday 17th November. Our S4 Personal development class has arranged a food drive to support the Kirkcaldy Food Bank this Christmas. We are collecting food during the dates above if you are able to please hand in any of the following items to reception:

  • Tea/coffee
  • Rice
  • Pasta and pasta sauce
  • Canned fruit and veg
  • Canned beans and spaghetti
  • Canned desserts
  • Canned meat and fish
  • Cereal
  • Long life milk (UHT)
  • Long life fruit juice

S5/6 Discover STEM Day at the University of Dundee (Miss Tennant)
Visit the University of Dundee campus and experience some taster sessions in Maths, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Life Sciences, Environmental Science and Anatomy & Human Identification. You will also have the opportunity to see the University of Dundee campus during a guided tour with some student ambassadors. This event takes places on Wednesday 15 November 2023, running from 10am – 2.30pm. Places are limited, to attend please register your interest using the link: or see Miss Tennant.

Remember we will be meeting today to work on all the exciting ideas you have come up with, B14 at 1:15pm – come and collect a pass if you don’t already have one.

Equality Group (Dr Murray)
The KHS Equality Group meets every Wednesday lunchtime in A4. Anyone who is interested in any aspect of equality is welcome whether it be age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation. See Dr Murray for a pass. Bring you lunch!

S1 & Senior Netball (Miss Johnston)
S1 and senior netball will be on after school every Wednesday from 3:15-4:15pm.

Gardening club is back on at the Serenity Garden 🪴. New members welcome. Meet at the amphitheatre just after 1pm.

Calm Colouring Club (Ms Geddes & Miss Millar)
Colouring has been shown to have multiple positive effects on your mental health, including reducing anxiety and helping your brain and body to relax. If you are looking for a quiet space to enjoy your lunch and do a bit of colouring, then head along to A3 from 1:10pm every Thursday lunchtime. Ms Geddes, Miss Millar and the Mental Health Ambassadors will be there to welcome you.

Upper Strings Ensemble (Mrs Ranieri)
Upper Strings Ensemble will run today at lunchtime in the Music department.

Chemistry Study Support (Dr Black)
