Fire Evacuation Procedure (Mr McKay)
Thank you to all pupils who took part in our staged fire evacuation on Friday. Our fire evacuation procedure has changed, and all young people will now assemble in the astro if a fire alarm sounds. Young people should follow their teacher to the allocated section of the astro for that subject, line up and ensure they follow all instructions. If the fire alarm goes off at break or lunch, young people should head to the astro and will be instructed by relevant staff from there.
Fordell Firs Trip: Adam Smith Group 2 (Mr Greenhorn)
A reminder that today is AS group 2 going to Fordell Firs. Pupils are to meet in the Dinner Hall where you will be registered and briefed on the day ahead. On Wednesday, it is Carlyle Group 1 due to attend FF.

S1 Girls Adam Smith Cup (Mr Greenhorn)
Can the S1 girls involved in the Adam Smith Cup, please meet me at break-time in the Girls’ Gym for a briefing on the AS Cup taking place at Starks Park on Wednesday.

Paris 2024 Fundraising (Miss Coggill)
There will be pupils visiting classes today period 7 this week raising money for our upcoming Paris 2024 trip. We have a Disney teddy up for grabs and the person who manages to guess it’s birthday correctly will be the winner. If anyone is interested in taking part, please try and bring change this week. It is £1 per guess. Bonne chance!
KHS needs a rock band to compete in FIFE BATTLE OF THE BANDS! (Mrs Duckett)
This event last happened in 2019, so we are so excited it’s up and running again! There is a shield for the winning school and a recording session at Fife College. If you are in a band with other school members, or want to form a band especially for the occasion, please see Mrs Duckett as soon as possible. Rock on!
S5/S6 EMA (Mrs Cook)
If you have applied and been approved for EMA, please bring your completed Learning Agreement form to the school office. We cannot proceed with any payments until this has been done. If you have still to apply, please do this as soon as you can. Any applications received by Fife Council after 30 September 2023 cannot be backdated and you will only be paid from the date the application is received. Please remember you also need to make a new application each academic year.

LGBT+ Group (Dr Murray)
The LGBT+ Group meets on Tuesday lunchtime in A4 (Dr Murray’s room in Science). It is a social space open to EVERYONE whether you are Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, any other identity, or an ally of the community. See Dr Murray for a pass if you want to come. Bring your lunch!
Enterprising Maths Club (Mr Jones)
Are you good at maths? Would you like to represent the school in maths competitions? All S1-S4’s are welcome to come Enterprising Maths Club, every Tuesday lunchtime in C3.
KHS Glee Choir (Mrs Duckett & Mr Wilkie)
KHS Glee Choir with Mrs Duckett and Mr Wilkie begins today after school, 3:15pm – 4:15pm in E10. No auditions, anyone who is interested in trying out singing in a show choir is welcome! Rights Respecting Schools Group & Ambassadors (Ms Young)
Wednesday in B14 at 1:15pm. It’s a really enthusiastic group who fight for and promote the rights of others, both across the school and in the wider world and community. Can all members attend as well as all pupils who put down their names to become Rights Ambassadors. You can collect a lunch pass from me any time before next Wednesday to give you permission to be in school during lunch.

The KHS Equality Group meets every Wednesday lunchtime in A4.
